I saw their road effort against Penn State. :D You should win at home in the Big Ten.

I was impressed with the way IU hit the Offensive boards though a few of their Off Reb kinda just fell in their hands. They also won the scramble plays in the second half which was the difference.

And your prize for winning last night is a trip to East Lansing. Congratulations! :D

So now you are changing your thoughts?

You said they need more wins over quality opponents. They beat a top 5 team and the team most considered to be the best team in the Big 10 this year. No matter the location that is a win over a quality opponent.

I'll give them credit yes. That was a good win for them and probably secured them a tournament berth regardless of what happens the rest of the year.

The interesting thing still looking at the body of work one could argue that the loss last night was a bad loss for Iowa given Indiana's RPI is in the 30's (35).

Indiana had now beat Iowa and ND (top 25 RPI) and has 5 more games against top 20 RPI teams to go.

Losses to Penn State (#100) (regardless of location, right?), Wake Forest (#108), UNLV (#139) are certainly bad losses.

Absolutely they have some bad losses.

I am not saying they are the best team in the conference or that they will win anything.

My point in this all along has been they deserved to be included in the conversation for team that is capable of winning the Big 10/Big 10 Tournament.

I think they have shown that.

Iowa is still the best team in the Big Ten. Good time to play a little bad on the road. They will be fine when it really matters.

No call on the travel for the Duke game winner. Took three steps and landed before he got his shot attempt off.

It was not but they escaped a horrible loss. Minnesota not as bad as Rutgers or Penn State.

Great finish coming up on espn2. Iowa State up 81-79 at Baylor. 92 seconds left.

Horrible loss for Iowa. They better figure out the rest of this season or gonna look like posers. Bad team right now. Not worthy of top 20 let alone a top 4 seed in any region. I am pissed.

Can we say that the Hoosiers could win the Big 10 yet?

IU will likely win the regular season but the post season tournament is going to be fun to watch. MSU and UW are playing some great basketball right now.

I think Pitt got in yesterday by taking Duke to the wood shed. Finally, a top 25 win.

Izzo always has his team ready to play. I am very dissapointed with Iowa and their poor play. They have been really bad and I am at a loss as to why other than they cannot shoot for whatever reason. For chrissakes sometimes they look like they have never played before. And the dumbass shot clock violations. WTF?

In the irony of all ironies (and not likely to happen anyway), if 5 teams end up 13-5 in the conference. Indiana would be the 5 seed and lose the double bye despite being the first to clinch a portion of the title. The record in based on head to head record of the tied teams.

The worst part of adding Rutgers and Maryland has been the unbalanced schedule.

I know IU can only play who they get scheduled against but they couldn't have asked for a better schedule than what they got.

We all do.

We don't want RFDC to get as mouthy as Scooter was in this thread.

What's killed Iowa is the lack of bench production over the last handful of weeks forcing the starters to play big minutes. And then it doesn't help that the first half POY has went ice cold.

Isn't this also kind of a pattern with Fran? I seem to remember a few elite or near elite Iowa teams that fell off towards the end of the season with him.

The good news for them is that with all that experience in talent they can still turn it back on in the tournament.

They've truly been elite under fran, but they have shown the same pattern the last few seasons. Two years ago was the perfect example - they were in the 5-6 range for seed and ended up as one of the last in with a terrible run down the stretch.
