 Congratulations?

For the record, the "False" was in regards to Rizzo being .050 or more than Abreu all year.

For a guy who has given up on baseball as a sport you certainly keep your obsessed Cubs posting going at near record levels ...just sayin'

Season isn't over.

..and it is more about throwing IMU's own thoughts back at him. I honestly don't care about baseball. It's football season.

Yes, I do appreciate you confirming that all my recent MLB stances have been proven true.

Starlin Castro doesn't suck.
Rizzo is better than Abreu.
Arrieta is one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Cubs would make the playoffs in 2015
Cubs prospects would largely be successful.

Agreed......the 2015 season has been a cool story. I hope it has a really happy ending. Still think it's a year early, but would love to be wrong about that and have them shock the world this season.

We know bigfan is big on PECOTA(based on his thoughts on the White Sox last year) so he will be surprised that PECOTA says that "Abreu > Rizzo".

I know I'm a longtime contributor...but this is one of the dumbest board arguments. Both are amazing, and they are so similar. You can't go wrong.

Those arb $$$$ will certainly add up... 12.5-15-20 possibly for 17-18-19 while Rizzo makes 7-7-11.

I can see his new agent Relativity Baseball comping him to at least Chris Davis
while the Sox will comp him to Rizzo and his low cost

http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2014/9 ... many-tomas

so for $47.5+11.7/2016= $59.2 mil vs 25+5/2016= $30mil you better hope he is more than FAR SUPERIOR for the next 4 seasons.

and remember this is all part of Theo's con.....

You might want to direct that comment at the fans thinking Rizzo is on the field turning water into wine.

As far as I've seen, he and Abreu both turn water into wine.

Besides Goldschmidt, there is no other 1B a team would want besides Rizzo and Abreu. And if you asked 30 teams which they'd take, 15 would say Rizzo and 15 would say Abreu.

I give the edge to Rizzo, personally, because I love OBP above most else...and I believe he has slightly better defense. Also, intangible 'leadership.'

But...neck and neck.

That's just your default thing to say about Cub fans regarding everything. Lazy.

Interesting to see IMU try to reconcile the debate now. He knows what the season has in store for this argument.

There was never a debate.

The original question was, "Is Abreu FAR SUPERIOR to Rizzo?"

We all know the answer is no and in fact Rizzo is the better player.

Fangraphs, 2014/2015 (2-year total):
Rizzo: 5.7, 5.5 (11.2)
Abreu: 5.3, 3.0 (8.3)

Baseball Reference, 2014/2015 (2-year total):
Rizzo: 5.2, 6.2 (11.4)
Abreu: 5.5, 3.8 (9.3)

Baseball Reference, 2014/2015 (2-year total):
Rizzo: 5.5, 5.3 (10.8 )
Abreu: 5.7, 3.2 (8.9)

Even Steve Stone will admit his terrible comment was wrong. Remember, statement was never who is better. Is was Abreu was FAR SUPERIOR.

I'd like to see how Abreu would do with the Cubs lineup rather than the shitshow he has had.

Abreu had his down year. Rizzo hasn't yet.
