It's like saying you don't understand the point of meatballs.

I love meatloaf. I think you need some milk and breadcrumbs plus something to flavor it with, rpb.

Yeah, I left out that small part of it, the flavoring

I was trying to avoid breadcrumbs and just use the Egg to hold it together. But yeah, next time ill season it for sure.

Krazy Ivan said that once.

Was the beginning of the end of our bromance.

We still like each other but it was never the same after he dissed Meatballs and with such a callous line...
"why do I need a ball of meat?"

Is Milk a main ingredient? I didnt think to put milk in.

We should have a Meatloaf cookoff

or just a cook off. Everybody bring your best dish to ____'s house and we'll eat like Kings and Queens.

you have a point, but for me meatloaf is pretty bland- there aren't generally a lot of seasoning...some diced onion, breadcrumbs, egg, etc. don't really count. nor does salt & pepper . it would be like eating a plain hamburger to me with no toppings or condiments
meatballs have a more distinct flavor, plus they're normally just a component in a dish....i don't often see people just eating meatballs plain on their own with nothing else

I highly recommend the Meat Bowl at Turtle's. Meatballs, sausage, and neck bones in red gravy and served with garlic bread.

Breadcrumbs will help bind it. If you don't add milk the crumbs can dry out the meat loaf.

Bland meatloaf is not the fault of the loaf. We eat some sort of meatball for dinner every few weeks. We had them last night. They are cheap, versatile, and easy to make.

Might as well just eat a hockey puck.
Have you ever eaten at a restaurant that serves actual hockey pucks instead of burgers?

Yes. They serve a hockey puck, and the center part from a rare steak. It's a side by side comparison.

I always add Worcestershire sauce to the meat, when I make meatloaf, meatballs, or burgers.

Thanks Chus.

Quinoa is a great unknown and vastly under rated as a food product.

The quinoa replaces the bread crumbs as the binding agent.

I'm in the meatloaf sucks category, I eat chicken 5x a week though. I'd eat jumbo shrimp daily if I could afford it.

So what's the deal with quinoa? Taste? Nutritional Value?

Consider couscous as the 'binding agent.'

Throw some spicy paprika, cumin and red pepper flakes in there. Yum.

It's a different taste and texture, and you get more nutrients than bread crumbs.

High in protein, very nutritional.

Not the most tasty unless mixed in with other foods or used in a salad.
