Rizzo, and every other baseball player, gets paid to be the best baseball player they can be.

Rizzo isn't going to hurt the team overall just to put up better 'traditional slugging" statistics.

He isn't an 80 year old baseball fan. He understands what leads to winning and what leads to Abreu.

Except the Cubs aren't winning. They're losing to teams that make contact who then lose to teams that make even better contact. But walk on with yo bad self.

Two teams can attempt to claim that they were better than the Cubs last season.

I expect that number to drop in 2016.

I, however, do not.

Also, I'm sure there are at least several teams in the league that held a 34 game head-to-head edge that could legitimately claim to be better than the Cubs.

Since the Blue Jays won a game in the LCS, it's 3.

I cannot recall a time when fans of a team who spent the previous season sneaking into the playoffs after coming third in their division (and got fucking DESTROYED as badly as any team ever in a playoff series) have been so confident about their team's knack for winning.

Where was Rizzo against the Mets? Did he do anything at all or was he too busy hiding under 10 layers in the dugout with his drunk manager?

Giants are 3 time World Champs this decade, one year doesn't make the Cubs better. 7.

...and the Cubs would be lucky to win 70 games with an AL (aka actual major league) schedule so just add the 12 AL teams who had more than 70 wins. Sorry, Oakland. 19.

Cubs are on the bottom fringes of the middle third of MLB rosters, talent wise. And that's after a season where they had historic performances from multiple players, going into a year where they can expect half their lineup to go through sophomore slumps.

Let's continue playing this out....

The feeble Cubs managed to only best the Pirates 11-8 during 2015 and somehow won a playoff game on the road.... in those same playoffs the managed to beat the 100 win best in MLB Cardinals 3-1...they also managed to amazingly go 7-0 against the Mets in the regular season.... and the also managed to fool the WS Champ Royals 2-1 while stumbling with a no talent roster to a mediocre 97-65 season.

so if the bottom 10 includes the Cubs they are clearly there with the Pirates, Cardinals, Mets and Royals...who are Americas other 5 and just where does that 76-86 juggernaut land on your list ?

My bad. They were .500 vs. the AL. Are you really crowing because your world beaters went .500 vs. AL teams that included the Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, and Minnesota?

Thank you for playing!

I know...crazy how good that team was and yet 2016 playoff success will blow it out of the water. 11-0.

I just bought a J-Hey tank top, Cubs tie dye bandana, and some This Is Our Year bracelets, bro!

I didn't interpret it as crowing, just someone calling JORR out on more of his endless piles of bullshit that he drags all around the Cubs forum.

Really? So you think going .500 against the AL Central is the sign of a great team?

See this is just too far over the top. You have to rein it in. This will be completely dismissed because you cant help but exaggerate.

You are actually what you claim to loathe in Cub fans (delusional whenever talking about the cubs). Cub fans are much more realistic than you in these situations, ironically.
