I know when I'm being ridiculously stupid and hyperbolic, but don't think it's the case to say that Nashville with Weber wins that series.

Dano is ten weeks younger than Teravainen. If we're not going to let people write Teuvo off as a bust at 21 (which we shouldn't, because that's ridiculous), then Dano deserves the benefit of the doubt as well, particularly with a team that can give him playing time at the NHL level.

I guess using that logic we can say that the only reason we didn't win the Cup in 2011 is cause Bolland was hurt for most of the first round vs Vancouver.

So you don't feel that the Perds with Weber would have beaten the February-in-April Hawks team they faced? Looked to me like they went to shit without their best player, as teams often do.

Why would you compare Teuvo to Dano? Teuvo is a high level prospect, a player who had massive success at the WJC and then came here and played great in the playoffs on the biggest stage. This year he looks like an underweight player who shows glimpses on a daily basis of the type of player he is capable of becoming. He already has fantastic vision and awareness, he just needs more experience so he can figure out how to get time and space on the ice to make the plays he is capable of making.

Dano, on the other hand, is just a guy who scored a bunch of goals for a cellar dweller last season, came here and showed absolutely nothing in any of his games played and on top of that has maturity issues.

Hawks have beaten Nashville with Weber plenty of times so no, I don't think they would've lost to them if Weber was available. Weber isn't a difference maker IMO. Josi is the guy who scares me on that blue line.

I think the Hawks just traded Scuderi to the Kings. Interesting. Probably clears some space, not sure if that is just to clear space or if its to clear space cause another move is coming??

Not sure if its true, don't see anyone else reporting it other than my one friend on FB. Not exactly an iron clad source.

Still no confirmation on that. Doesn't even make sense.

It makes complete sense. There is a salary cap in the NHL.

I think CH is saying it makes no sense from LA's POV.

Right. I can't figure out Lombardi's angle on this one. I'm sure Ehrhoff ain't what he used to be, but he can't be Scuderi bad.

Ehrhoff prefers the superior German culture in Chicago and demanded a trade.

I beg your pardon?

Mike Cammalleri (38 in 42) out for the year for the Devs, making Stempniak available to be Teuvo's new linemate after all.

and the moves keep coming

Quote:
General manager Stan Bowman was busy through Friday evening, as the Blackhawks acquired Dale Weise and Tomas Fleishmann from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Phillip Danault and their second-round pick in the 2018 NHL draft.

The 27-year-old Weise, who’s in the final season of his current contract (1.025 million), has 14 goals and 12 assists in 56 games with the Canadiens. Fleischmann, who signed a one-year deal worth $750,000 this season, has 10 goals and 10 assists in 57 games with Montreal.

OK, yeah, well, this one I don't get at all. It's not like we are really gonna miss Danault (now Pat Foley won't ever have the pleasure of calling a Dano/Danault line), but I just don't see the point. Not a cap move...or is it (maybe not gonna try to re-sign Kruger?).

I think Dale Weise is a good pickup...especially if they can extend...

Wonder if they have some kind of back-pocket deal with Bickell in the works , and they are stockpiling guys that someone will take along with him...? I mean, it's not like they are gonna keep Fleischmann around past this season.

Oooooh, I dunno about this one. Flash has been a shadow of his Caps self for years. Wasn't he a healthy scratch for Minnesota down the stretch last year? Dale Weise is a second Ryan Garbutt. I'm very surprised that they cut Danault loose already, but I'm certain the Habs faithful are very 'appy to 'ave a Quebec native on the roster.

Hawks looking exceedingly impressive on paper going into the playoffs. It's on them not to get assfucked by Colorado in the first round.

My mistake, Fleischmann was a healthy scratch in the playoffs with the Ducks, not Minnesota. Played six of the Ducks' 16 playoff games. I was initially thinking of Sean Bergenheim; I always confuse the two long-surnamed Euros the Panthers signed in the summer of '11.

Minooka Meatball wrote:

All we heard for weeks/months was that Danault was custom-built to be Kruger's heir and that Kruger was a goner. Now Danault is the one who's gone. Are we designing another shutdown center in Rockford that I don't know about? I suppose he's staying. At least by spending most of his contract year on the shelf, he won't cost all that much.

So Fleischmann hovers around .35-.40 points per game these days, sitting at 20 in 57 this year, which would be the low end. Let's see what he can do on a non-doomed team.

Ladd's last playoff win was when he hoisted the cup. That is fucked up. I didn't even realize that until he said it during his morning skate interview. Saad will be saying the same thing in 6 years.

Rangers got pouty piece of crap Eric Staal for two seconds and a Finnish prospect. Only agreed to waive his no-trade for New York because his brother plays there.

CH, what was your opinion of Ladd's first game back? I thought he looked pretty good all things considered.
