Wonder if they keep Miller??

MLB Trade Rumors ‏@mlbtraderumors 1m1 minute ago

Yankees, Reds Nearing Aroldis Chapman Trade http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/y ... -reds.html

The Yankees are on the verge of acquiring left-hander Aroldis Chapman from the Reds, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network (Twitter link). Chapman would presumably inherit the closer’s role, pairing with Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller to give the Yankees a dominant trio at the back of the bullpen. Baseball America’s Josh Norris first reported that the Yankees and Reds were nearing a trade (Twitter link). Per Norris (second link), 22-year-old right-hander Rookie Davis is among the players going back to Cincinnati in the deal.

The Pirates used to. Maybe you overpay to get it done. That's a guy that would be great to have at the back of the bullpen. Imagine Arrieta going 7 or 8 and then bringing that guy in. Teams would feel defeated.

Pretty good return for a guy who might be looking at a 50 game suspension. Jagielo is gonna hit. Not sure if he's gonna stay at 3B but he's gonna hit and Davis took a nice step forward this year.

The Cubs may not lose a division game.

Oh, Castro?

Ok. I'll accept that could be a fleecing.

I guess I was thinking bigger.

And now I've heard the talking heads on MLB Network suggest that this may be the best back end of a pitching staff ever. Ever. Seriously...ever.

Admittedly several minutes later the Nasty Boys at least got a mention. :?

Chapman suspended for 30 games. He will not appeal. This per MLB network.

That seems a bit harsh.

Wasn't this a domestic violence suspension? Manfred showing he's tougher on domestic issues than the Ginger Hammer.

That is correct.

Also included a gun. If I heard the MLB network "guys" correctly...they felt this was ONLY a 30 game suspension because Chapman was cooperative and accepted the suspension without appeal.

They had been reporting he got pissed went outside/away and started shooting a gun at empty areas well away from people. Weird stress relief...kinda wonder how his teammates will take that?

Probably give him a wide berth.

Especially after a blown save.
