Detroit was getting all cunty about having to make two trips to the West Coast a year. Sure, we can bear that cross, but because they're an hour ahead, it's not faaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrr. (Didn't stop them from winning four championships; I suppose if they had more road games in Ottawa, they could have won six or more?) They actually would have been fine with staying in the division under the proposed schedule matrix that had teams playing teams in the other divisions one and one, but when the NHL switched to the proposal with two conferences, they whined their way to the Eastern Canada/New England division.

Chicago, Detroit, and Toronto should have stayed in the Central Division together forever. Toronto-Montreal isn't the rivalry people want it to be; Montreal's true hatred lies with and will always lie with Boston.

As with finding reasons not to give ROTY to Panarin (oh, by the way, golden boy Dylan Larkin was mostly a ghost last night), I think people will do the same with Kane and vote for Ovechkin instead. Whether it'll be enough to wrest it from Kane, I can't say, leaning toward no.

Kane does have the scoring title locked up, and should break the century mark with ease.
