They can't trade Gasol. If Taj Gibson starts no way they contend for anything. I think there are still some teams that may view Gibson as a starting caliber 4 man. If that's the case you may be able to get something for him

gibson played hurt this year. i think he will be a force come this fall. the guy is one of those dudes who just always produces when hes healthy

Deal Taj Gibson while he still has value. Backup PF often trumpeted as a starter was exposed by Tristan Thompson in the playoffs. Bulls lost all three of the games he started against Cleveland.

Hard to trade someone coming off ankle surgery who won't be ready until Sept-Oct.

The second he demonstrates that he is healthy move him. He is a thirty yr. old career backup who will only be in the way. The Bulls need a starting caliber 3 more than they need a backup four.

Yes, and play style. Body type. Projections. etc etc.

Is Portis a family friend?

They are not even close to the same player.

Two bad first round picks in a row.

Why is Portis a bad pick?

Tyrus Thomas 2.0

Scary how right I was.

Yeah I wouldn't be pimping that prediction IMU. Portis is going to be good.

Portis could flop ala Tyrus Thomas and it still doesn't make them the same player. This is a rhetorical sleight of hand move but it aint going to fly. I'm still waiting on the scouting report that says they are the same player. The eye test sure doesn't tell anyone that.

Exactly. Even if Portis does flop, IMUs comparison is wrong.

Doubling down, eh?

Don't worry. I'll bring this back up in two years.

Just for argument's sake it's fair to ask this question. Who plays the role of Lamarcus Aldridge in this scenario?
