Nope that dog ain't hunting Joe blow. I called this one months ago. I don't recall your contrarian contributions in the McSuckets thread. Nothing worse than a bandwagon guy, which seems to be par for the course around these parts.

LTG.....I don't understand your comment. "Contrarian guy" and "Bandwagoner". Please translate your thoughts. Remember: I'm not a Chicagoan. In St. Louis we talk in more plain language....you know...lots of one syllable words.

Is there also a large dyslexic population in St. Louis too?

i don't recall you "fighting the good fight" in the McSuckets thread. Like so many that post you appear to have found the "persona non grata" guy and latch onto whatever the consensus happens to be. I don't know what master of the obvious since the obvious that you speak wasn't really that apparent . I have nothing if not integrity.

So you gonna admit you wondered if McDermott could play or are you going to pretend you thought he was legit from day one?

I'm still not sure McDermott can play. He has, so far in his career, still had way more 'bad' games than 'good' ones. Even during this stretch, he is an extreme liability on the defensive end. Let's not pretend that the Bulls aren't still getting outscored when he is on the floor. He is still a -4 PER GAME +/- over his last 12 games, and that includes his 30 point night against Toronto on 2/19.

E'Twaun Moore? -2.8
Taj Gibson? -2.5
Derrick Rose? -1.3
Pau Gasol? -0.1

And I know it only encompasses two games but

Jimmy Butler? +10.0

The Bulls are at their worst when Doug McDermott is on the floor. Period.

A lot of that time has been spent with Aaron Brooks out there too.
Plus/minus should not be discussed when he is out there with the Bulls bench. They stink.

I wasn't a fan of the pick. I became a fan of the pick during the Vegas summer league. Also advocated for the guy to play last season. Hung in there with him this season too. I soured on him a little after one game this season. Thought he was fighting for his NBA life. He has been playing well since. Overall I have been in their McDermott camp.

I doubt I could say they same for you though. Essentially it's easy to pick out the anti McDermott guys. They are also anti-Hoiberg and Pro Thibs.

Don't be a revisionist.

Aaron Brooks is a -1.2 in that same stretch. I'd have to check his per 36 to see how that compares to McDermott since McDermott plays more minutes.

But...one could venture to guess that Brooks and McDermott are not too far apart in +/- when judged by minutes played.

And McDermott probably gets to play with the starters more than Brooks does, though I'd have to check that as well. But...eye test!

McDermott hasn't been the problem. To suggest that they Bulls are at their worst when he is on the floor is just wrong. I don't need to look at some silly plus minus Stat to see that. Also Butler was killing the Bulls the other night, particularly down there stretch. Same old ball stopping for which Stacey King correctly called he an Etwaun Moore on. McDermott was 9 for 11 yet he hurt the Bulls? Watch the games sometimes.

I didn't like the pick but I grew to understand it because the Bulls needed scoring. I also became more of a fan once I realized that he was more athletic than I originally thought. I had him as a Steve Novak Korver guy and he is more than that.

Thibs didn't play the guy so it was wrongfully assumed that he is a bum. He was brought in to score. He can do that. If he shows that he can be adequate defensively he will be a starter at some point.

I have been pro McDermott for about a yr and a half now. Vegas summer league sold me on the guy.

How do you win basketball games?

Scoring more points than you allow the opponent to score.

McDermott does not excel at that.

Period. Again.

You're not that bright or really that consistent either. Etwaun Moore got 33 put on him by Kyle Lowry, yet he helped them team win. McDermott scores 30 and somehow he doesn't help the team win.

If you truly understood the game you'd know that he doesn't have to excel at defense.

Curry and Harden are two of them worst defenders in the NBA and they finished 1-2 in MVP voting.

Also saying period and again doesn't mean that you are making solid points either.

That game you reference is factored in.

McDermott already has 13 points by the way. Quick find a meaningless Stat to support your position that he is not good. Also notate the silence of other posters as a means of lending credence to your silly position.

Finally have the same posters bash me so that you can think that your idiotic musings somehow have merit.

 Great comparison. Arguably the two best scorers in the NBA vs Doug McDermott.
