I am shocked the guy doesn't want to ride the pine for a season and collect another 13 million. The Sox got a huge break here, as it was addition by subtraction. LaRoche was not likely to contribute much and now they not only can use the 25th spot on the roster for a better player, but utilize the 13 million to perhaps add a significant player that can help the team. If not now, perhaps close to the trade deadline, should the team be contending for a wildcard berth or a division title. Huge break.
