has to be considered the biggest upset in tournament history considering a #1 has never lost and this MSU team was considered one of the best #2s ever and should've been a 1.

Looking at the other 7 #2s that have lost I think its safe to say this is the biggest by far. Some of those aren't even upsets looking back with the benefit of hindsight. Santa Clara over Arizona with a little known guard named Steve Nash leading the way? Not exactly an upset anymore. then you had some really overseeded #2s like South Carolina.

St. Joe's over DePaul was a bigger upset.

I agree.

MTSU also looked like the better team throughout the game.

I should've clarified...since the tourney went to 64 teams.

considering they never trailed the entire game I would say that's an accurate statement.

Santa Clara over Steve Nash was probably bigger.

Santa Clara wasn't even a very good team that year.

Thank god Purdue didn't lose that 1 vs. 16 game or there would be something to make fun of Purdue basketball about.

was a great upset cause UCLA was defending champs, but it was a #13 over a #4 so not that big historically speaking.

They shouldn't hold the games in small towns like NYC. Can't even sell half the seats.

I'm still mad at Michigan for costing me $750 when they couldn't win the title a few years back. They just had to lose.

They have to be 2 of the top 10 most annoying fan bases of all time, never mind the fact that you have had some of the most douchebaggy of douchebag football coaches at both programs.

That was crazy. I was just a youngster but I can still picture Aguirre pouting under the basket as time ran out.

I can still hear the announcer: "Skip Dillard, a 90% free throw shooter is on the line shooting the front end of a one and one". And then....

How does any player with any basketball talent say, "boy, I'd love to spend my four years of college ball playing in a state that most people couldn't identify on a map and has nothing interesting to do closer than 400 miles away, other than cow tipping".

How much does this loss hurt Izzo's legacy? I guess someone has to explain this to Curious Hair
