How bad would the UCONN ladies beat the Illini?

Has she weighed in on the oh so important "Is UCONN destroying womens college basketball because they are the only team that isn't horrible!" issue?

Not really.

If we can't have pink and blue then why have womens sports at all? Why do we need to separate them by gender?

No she got confused and thought people were talking about youkon gold potatoes then mumbled something about needing to leave immediately and get to Friday's before their endless appetizers promotion ended.

I'm sure colleges would love to drop women's sports. Why do they even have different colors on the uniforms, they should all wear pink anyway.

Correct. Like vaginas.

They should all stretch out their labias so much they can wear them as uniforms instead.

Because there comes a certain point where the pretense that men and women are exactly the same is necessarily dropped.

So you are fine with the different treatment of men and women in regards to sports?

As long as we're pretending to be capitalists, yes.

I feel as though Rick and JORR are on the same side of the debate but are still managing to argue with one another. #dedication

 I think we are on the same side but perhaps for different reasons. I think Rick just hates women's sports. I don't. A women's basketball game is often better played than a men's game. And women's tennis can be just as good as men's.

My argument would be that women's sports don't "deserve" to exist on a professional level if they aren't making money to pay the freight. The fact that people don't want to watch women's soccer isn't a failing of society.

I don't hate womens sports. I don't find certain ones compelling especially when they are as poorly played as womens college basketball is.

kd has an opinion that it is wrong to associate pink with girls and blue with boys because it does no good. I just want him to explain why that separation is wrong but literally banning one gender from participating and making it very difficult for one gender to play in the other is ok.

Just to clarify, I don't dislike women's sports out of any sort of weird principle. I dislike it because it's usually terrible.

They can run a motion offense as sharply and perfectly as they want, all day long, and it is still aesthetically awful to me.

Also, agree on the economics.

Potatoes, tomatoes

Women's hockey at its highest level is actually pretty good. Watched some of the World Championship game last night between USA and Canada and it was some solid up and down action. There's no checking in women's hockey, but IMO, I think that makes the sport better. Hockey purists would hate to hear that, but that's how I feel.

My Women's NIT champ made the Final Four. My coworker and I have been filling out Women's NIT brackets for the last eight years. More so a joke. Winner gets a $10 gift card to the restaurant of his choosing. I've won 7/8 and have already clinched this year as well
