For being sentimental about it being torn down. Bernstein's take so Larry jumps in on it.

By the way, Larry said the first McDonalds was on Addison in Chicago. He said that's the historic one. Wrong. The first one was in Des Plaines.

It's still there. I'm sure it's been remodeled but they keep the original look.

You're both wrong (you only kinda). The first was in California. Kroc sold them milkshake machines to their stores out in Cali and discovered their business model and wanted in.

Kroc's first franchise was the one you noted.

(sorry to be a nitpicking ass  )

Yeah, and that one in Des Plaines is just like a museum. It doesn't serve food.

Yeah. You guys are right. That museum in Des Plaines is actually the 9th. I was always told it was the first and thought it was still operational. Weird that they wouldn't keep it operational as one of the originals. You'd think it would do business by tourist just to say they went to one of the originals. Maybe not though. Who cares where you get your Big Mac.

Totally agree with Dan on this. That McDonald's was always packed with asshole drunk Cubs fans. I don't even think they allowed you to use the bathroom, even if you paid. Keep it.

WTF are you talking about...

The place was a second home for BUMS! The Shopping cart parking there outnumbered the cars. Take any cold day and no less than 20 bums, that literally smelled like shit waiting for the doors to open at 6 AM.

The place was disgusting.

But it is McDs across from Wrigley and the quickest food you can get on a game day, so , they should always do huge business on game days...before and after...

For me, the scary thing is that's how all the McDonald's looked when I was a yout.

So the gates enclosing the place in the picture you posted didn't clue you in to the fact the place was closed?

Its kinda Funny. Bernstein's intellectual warrior stuff is hilarious and Boers being Boers is great.

Bernstein: This idea that both sides are equal in every argument is ruining Science and quite frankly, it's ruining everything.

Boers: MmmmHmmm

my fav memory of that McDonalds on addison has nothing to do with the cubs, it involved cringing as my wife barely got her dad's f250 through the drive thru without scraping the hell out of it
