in any case, i don't think watching this show first is going to "ruin" BB. as long as you recognize they aren't going to perfectly connect to each other. i think the writers realize that people who are watching BCS haven't necessarily watched BB first.

I bet that's less than 5% of the audience.

BB was awesome, the Wire sucked. At least the first half of the first season which is as far as I made it.

BB is definitely awesome. Second best show ever made depending on how one feels about Game of Thrones. It's not on the level of The Wire though.

Even the biggest Wire fanboys acknowledge that one of its seasons was downright awful. You can't be the best show ever if one of your seasons was terrible.

BB started great and only got better every step of the way.

The worst season in The Wire is Season 5, and it's still one of the best seasons of TV ever. You are wrong on this.

Never seen The Wire. I was going to watch it after BB but BB was so good that it has ruined television for me. I just don't have the motivation now to check out anything else except BCS.

the best shows i'm watching currently, that i can say for sure i think are awesome, are "rectify" and "better call saul". all time shows are difficult because so many shows don't sustain their run. i've heard "breaking bad" does, and the only shows i've seen that saw themselves through were "babylon 5", "the wire" and "six feet under". i wouldn't compare those three shows against each other, but i was thoroughly satisfied with how they all concluded.

"lost" and "the x-files" have got to be two of the biggest disappointments to me, and left a bad taste in my mouth. that's why i never checked out any TV for a while...i didn't want to go through that again.

if i'd had known vince gilligan created "breaking bad" i probably would've been in from the beginning. but you know, i believe i still have a chance to view "the greatest TV show of all time". hell even if i have 7 back surgeries i know i still have a chance.

well it is kinda like a girlfriend... part of the reason you love her is because of the period of life youre in and shes just what you need at that time.... but later on you think "meh, she was ok but whatever"

but i will say, the wire hit me hard... that was a monumental series.. then again, so were the 2005+ bulls... when kirk hinrich and ben gordon came on the court and i watched them night after night giving it more than i gave my career... i grew a deep affection for the team. its part of the reason i still watch, even if lately its because im just in awe of how materialistic the organization has become.

breaking bad was extremely entertaining. enough that even if you watch it thinking "bullshit" it really doesnt matter because its done so well.... but i will say i still prefer the shows and movies that leave me questioning my beliefs prior to watching them.

and better call saul... yeah, its the shit. i honestly wish i aired before breaking bad... that would have been historic to have this show and then it morphs into breaking bad... but it doesnt really matter... wherever better call saul ends up it will still be two of the greatest series ever on tv. i cant believe better call saul is almost over for the year, but its comforting to know it will be around till my later 30's :)

Six Feet Under? I may need to give that a chance. Never seen an episode. Meant to but never got around to it. The Wire is a great series.

I liked the wire, the acting and writing in BB blow The Wire out of the water..its not even close. I'd place GOT, Deadwood and Fargo ahead of The Wire also.

The Wire required that you really pay attention. I like them both, but Breaking Bad is like a comic book and The Wire is like a novel.

I got halfway into season 2 of the wire, and it could not keep my attention. Season 1 was great though.

Similar to Sopranos and Game of Thrones in that way. Sopranos and GoT though you dont HAVE to pay close attention but its a better experience if you do. It's the sprawling casts. So intricate.

The Wire Spoiler below

Episode 2 of The Wire when they go into the towers late at night is great. You get to see how that sort of thing might happen, how the lies are formed and how the ranks back each other up. And they didnt come off as bad cops or good cops. Just realistic cops.

1 hour to go.

I'll be shocked if there is no Fring and a little disappointed.

Pretty good finale.

Mike got a mystery message and Chuck finally got down on Jimmy's level.

Can't wait for next season.

We have not seen a normal Chuck, and he has not crushed Jimmy yet.

I love this show but was hoping for more from the season finale. I wanted Mike to pull the trigger. I wanted worse for Chuck. But Vince Gilligan is a genious and he knows when to keep the viewer wanting more, and when to give the viewer more. I cant wait for season 3 and the return of Gus Fring. He wrote the "dont" note.

I disagree with having to pay close attention to the Wire, it was a good show, the shootout with Omar with his 2 girls and the other guy in his crew was one of the weakest and cheesiest scenes I've ever seen.

True, we haven't seen a normal Chuck. As I said though, a normal Chuck would destroy Jimmy. This fucked up Chuck will still destroy Jimmy but he'll also destroy himself in the process. I agree that Fring left the note.

The Wire is a million times more complex than Breaking Bad. There are a lot of characters and complicated subplots. Also, it's far more realistic. You don't need to suspend disbelief the way you do with Breaking Bad.

Gilligan & Gould acknowledged that the first letter of each Season 2 episode title is an anagram for “FRINGS BACK".

As for Chuck & Jimmy, I'm not so sure that Chuck will ever get the best of Jimmy.

And get him disbarred.

Twice Jimmy could have had him committed and didn't.

I doubt he gets disbarred. You can't just get disbarred and then change your name and keep practicing like nothing happened.

Are you serious? Again, I like Breaking Bad, but it's a very straight forward show.
