Well, people usually don't die of pneumonia at 57.

The heralds announced the end of the Purple Reign today, ironically on the Queens birthday. Hopefully this isn't a case of regicide.

At the age of 55,I was almost dead from double pneumonia and a virus. My kidneys were failing and they were about to put me on dialysis. Fortunately the antibiotics kicked in and I made a full recovery. The odd part was I did not feel sick or heavily congested. The problem was failure to sleep longer than 10-15 minutes with the sensation of not breathing for about a month.

I'm probably the only black man my age or older who didn't care for him.

It only mattered if the women around you did.

Correct! My lady friend is devastated and I am cracking jokes.

The second-best highlight of Super Bowl XLI, from our friends at NFL Films, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NN3gsSf-Ys.

I want you to know it's raining.

Yes, it's raining.

Are you okay?

Can you make it rain harder?

Can't find video, but here's the audio for "Let's Pretend We're Married" ~ on 1999

THIS made me a Prince fan. :(

His performance at the Bears Super Bowl was pretty awesome. Singing Purple Rain in the rain was cool.

The library ain't what it used to be (they've had to compete with a commercial AAA station in the market and started tightening up), and it's a little try-hard when they mix in local backpack rappers with the usual Semisonic and Bon Iver, but it's still probably the best station in the country. Oh, and Mary Lucia is the worst.

A reporter once asked Eric Clapton how it feels to be the greatest guitar player in the world, and he replied "I don't know you'll have to ask Prince".

Prince was a great Guitarist. Clapton is one of the most overrated Guitarists of all time.

Not great quality, but here's the only time you'll ever see Prince, Michael Jackson, and James Brown on stage together (one presumes unplanned at that) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy9L4ft7EGk

From TMZ....We broke the story ... Prince's private jet made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, hours after he performed in Atlanta. At the time his reps said he was battling the flu ... something we questioned because his plane was only 48 minutes from home before the unscheduled landing.
Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a "save shot" ... typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate.
