This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. You can post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest.

***Note: There are 2 weeks left of NFL regular season games. The final week of the contest will be college only, Jan.1-Jan.7. The final game is the beatdown of the Luckeyes at the hands of the very deep Tigers of LSU, who is down to -4 from a -5 1/2 open from what I see. Good Luck everybody!

back over 50%. I should stop right now but like in real life, it encourages me to take more action.

Rams +7.5 against Steelers

Taking the home dog on thursday night again. Are the Steelers really that good on the road that they should be laying more than a TD. That half poin is also a jinx number. If you don't take the Rams, lay off this one unless it goes to 7 or under.

Packers -9 at Bears

I hate to do it. I think the Bears made their last stand against the Vikes. The Vikings were one dimensional so the Bears could afford to load up against the run. Favre will have a field day if they try that this week. Bears will score less than 10 points this week.

I was actually 0 - 2. But like I said before, does it really matter? Just trying to be honest. God I suck  .

You could pick teams at random and have better success Darren.

I was thinking about asking my almost five-year old son and three and a half year old daughter to pick which team will win each game and use them as my picks.

Edit: In fact, that's what I'll do this week and I'll see how it goes.

Rams +9
Steelers aren't playing that well, and Steven Jackson is running the ball well again. Getting 9 at home, its a gift.

Pittsburgh -7.5 over St. Louis Rams are bad, and bad at home. Pittsburgh needs to make a statement after lackluster performances the last two weeks.

Steelers vs. Rams UNDER 43.5

www.thegreek.com

Not sure where you are getting the +9 but most posters use the greek sportsbook lines for this contest, as far as I know.

Indy -7...the super bowl march has started

Jack -13...Oak travels cross country and doesn't sniff the endzone

Week 17 'Tis The Bowl Season

CLE -1 @ CIN

Bengals are overmatched by the Browns offense. 99 days until the Dusty Baker era begins 'Natty fans.

GB -9 @ CHI

Not even close. Bad weather, not a bad team, may cause the Beloved to get shutout.

HOU @ IND -7

P-E-Y and friends only getting 7? Does the roof leak at the dome?

KC +4 1/2 @ DET

Chiefs indoors and Det is running out of healthy players.

MIA +22 @ NE

This game could be 20 or 21 to zero, but a cover is a cover.

NYG -1 @ BUF

The Bills have a QB from Stanford and a RB from Cal vs. a playoff team.

OAK + 13 1/2 @ JAX

Ugly game played by even uglier people. Late garbage time Tuddy by OAK moves the differential from 20 to 13.

PHI +3 @ NO

Saints D can't cover the up the O's troubles.

WASH @ MIN -6 1/2

Minnesota Vikings in the... Playoffs?!? A beatdown 1000 years in the re-making.

ATL @ AZ -10

The Falcons will not play defense the whole game to honor the passing of their coach.

BAL +11 @ SEA

Troy Smith has the fire and the passion.

NYJ @ TEN -9

J-E-T-S, suck-suck-suck. Vince Young can run all ova the place.

TB -6 @ SF

Tampa is a playoff team. The Niners should face relagation English Premier League style. They are worse than the Dolphins.

DEN +9 @ SD

Which Broncos team will show up? The one that will lose by less than 10 points.

Texans +7 vs Colts- I see the Colts resting players more than they say and the Texans are playing well and last year the Texans beat the COlts in Week 16.

Patriots -22 vs Dolphins- Last regular season home game and I see the Patriots getting back into old form here and go 15-0.

Giants -1 vs Bills- A tough game to pick, Giants losing Shockey and Kevin Everett being at the game, but I think the Giants want to win here and rest people next week.

Jaguars -13.5 vs Raiders- The Jaguars party here with a win to clinch a playoff spot.

49ers +6 vs Buccanners- I like what I seen from Shaun Hill last week and still not sure about the Buccnaeers.

Cumstein didn't make any picks this week? I guess he wants to insure his win by not picking anymore.
