Well, obviously the point of bringing up a guy like Stephen A Smith is because he deliberately brings on those type of insults, the same way DiCaro does. The difference is that Stephen A hasn't tried to make a side career out of being a victim of his own confrontational behavior.

I don't see what you're seeing here. People aren't afraid to admit they hate Julie. I don't personally hate her because you have to be pretty invested in someone to hate them, but I have zero respect for her as a person and don't blame anyone for being hostile to her on Twitter. She's one of the most hostile personalities we have ever discussed on this board.

Yeah, but then Julie has a point when they talk about her haters and twitter trolls constantly attacking her. You can't say "I hate Julie and I'm going to say mean things about her and then also get upset when she mentions how many people hate her and say mean things about her".

They probably felt bad. I'd feel bad if for some inexplicable reason I felt compelled to sit there and call some stranger a Caller Bob or talk about how they deserve to be raped because some asshole behind me was yelling at me to do so.

highly questionable with bomani and lebatard are talking about the video. they are saying there is a war against women. did you read any of the tweets some of the dudes in the same profession get? jason witlock is regularly hoped to choke and die on cheeseburgers via twitter.

nobody deserves to be tweeted that way. but to assume this is new or something only directed at women is completely absurd. stop creating a gender neutral issue into "inequality".

will probably also note that most of these people bomani/lebetard/spain/dicaro are totally all about bringing refugees who's worldview treats women as 2nd rate citizens into this country.

Admittedly, I don't listen as much as I once did, but on the occasions that I have heard her, she has been as good at her job- possibly better- than the typical Score update person. I realize it's a low bar.

Most of the tweets I have seen from badrogue have been mocking her and don't sound really angry in nature. Might be wrong, i only check in on this thread every 10 pages or so.

Right it takes 2 to tango, people say she brings it upon herself, but these same people are also twitter stalking her solely to post their oh so insightful burns on her at a moments notice. It seems like there's only 2 types of people that follow her on twitter, and they sure deserve each other.

If they ever decide to film a Youtube video with someone reading such a tweet, I'd like to volunteer.

Well, he's certainly obsessed with her, and he complains about being "blocked" by her and seemingly he tweets at her pretty much every day.

I mean, if we set the bar at making real threats at her then ok he doesn't seem angry but it seems pretty obvious that badrogue isn't a big fan of Julie and neither are a lot of people here.

They shouldn't be fans of her. I would have to question anyone who IS a fan of her. Eaglo Jeff, quite possibly the nicest guy in the world, went from defending her to saying yeah she really is terrible in less than 24 hours once he actually saw what she was writing and saying.

After watching the video for a few minutes, it seems pretty clear they were paid actors. It's tough to believe anyone is that sensitive.

If we use this site as a barometer, Baffoe and McClure take as much heat as DiCaro, and for pretty much the same reasons. Most people I know fit into one of two categories, they either work hard all day or spend most of their day arguing in circles with Boilermaker Rick. In either case, when they're finished they just want to relax. The watch sports as an escape. They don't want to constantly think about all the awful shit each player may or may not be doing off the field of play. They don't feel like they have some social responsibility to hate a guy who has played well for their team simply because he's a horrible person otherwise. And they don't mind if DiCaro or McClure find Patrick Kane to be a reprehensible scumbag. That's their right. The problem comes in when DiCaro et. al. try to make others feel bad about enjoying Patrick Kane's skills with a hockey puck. It's our entertainment. I'm sure a few wifebeaters and rapists have worked for Ben & Jerry's over the years. Does that mean we shouldn't enjoy Cherry Garcia? This goes hand in hand with the bernsteinization of the Score.

people being assholes to each other and horribly crass in criticism from a sports perspective has been going on for a long time. people have foamed at the mouth and wished for death to columnists, sportscasters and the like since i've been alive and probably longer. Sure twitter gives us an anonymous platform to make it front and center. Its all awful and embarassing. but its existed and most professionals have shrugged it off and just chalked it up to people being idiots.

The problem with women is sports is not that they are women. ok maybe it is. HOWEVER they are injecting themselves into a situation that has existed. its not new. and are like AGAST WHAT IS THIS!!! THIS HAS TO CHANGE!!! look lady, if you are qualified and want a spot at the table, i'm all for it. BUT STOP MAKING SPORTS STUPID AND SOMETHING ITS NOT. Linda Cohen IS GREAT and better than many of the dudes on ESPN. but she's not out fighting for a safe space constantly.

I don't know about "higher profile"...but she at least stays public. She's fine reading updates...that people really care enough to bitch if she misses a pronunciation says more about themselves and their own douchieness than it does about her sucking. I don't really have a problem with her...other than she rode that Kane is a rapist train way too far...but not nearly as far as others like McClure.

I'm not sure about Baffoe, but McClure is virtually invisible. He takes his shots and runs and hides behind the veil of anonymity provided by the Web. A while back, I actually googled him to see what he looked like...not one single pic of puss boy.
