Pace was probably out having a smoke talking to everyone who would listen about how smart he is and some scout just made the Bullard pick.

Yeah, Bullard is good at this spot.

(Pick acquired in trade with Seattle Seahawks) The Bears get first-round value in our top-graded offensive tackle from 2015. Whitehair projects better at guard in the NFL, as he’s strong in the running game (top grade among offensive tackles) and capable in pass protection. It’s not flashy, but this is one of the best picks in the draft.

TAKE THAT, NAYSAYERS!!!!

Kiper, Mayock, and PFF all like the pick.

Maybe you guys are wrong?

Maybe the Bears see him as a RT?

I think I said earlier that white air will be fine. However there were some serious opportunity costs with the trades down

Its possible, of course. But I am more upset at what they passed on in game changers like Robinson or even Bell to pick him. I don't doubt the kid will start for us, I think he graded out as the top Guard on most boards for this draft tbh.

I like this pick. Graded as a late 1st early 2nd rounder on a few boards I saw. Great value to get him here.

Floyd is pretty clear from the scouting report. He's an NBA Power Forward paying DE with a tremendous burst off the ball. He's freakishly athletic for a long and lanky guy. He's soft against the run when he played 225-230 lbs. The Bears will slap 20 lbs on him and leverage him as a mismatch off the edge against oversized OT's that could swallow him up in the running game if he's not leveraging technique. They outweigh him by 80-100 lbs.

Fangio believes that's exactly what he needs for this Defense and it's lacking. So they moved up to secure it at the cost of a 4th. If he's an ideal fit for the scheme, he'll be fine. If he's not, and Fangio doesn't know his own system that well, then he'll fai.

In Fangio We Trust.

He is the best front seven pass rusher in the draft. Period. Including Bosa. Bosa was simply far more balanced. That's what Fangio wants. Feels it is a must for his Defense.

Whitehair and Bullock add competition to the lines. Whitehair may have been the best OL interior prospect in this draft. I'm not sure how this will play other than this line will have tremendous competition and hopefully depth. The left side of the line, particularly Leno, is a big question to me, but love the approach of building up the lines.

Bullock has a chance to add push up the middle and plays the run well. There are no sure things in Round 3, but this could be good value.

Player - Draft Position - PFF Top 250 Rating
--------------------------------------------------
Floyd - 9 - 19
Whitehair - 56 - 17
Bullard - 72 - 27

As much I don't understand what Pace is doing, it seems like he does have a plan.

So PFF had Whitehair ranked ahead of Floyd???
