I honestly did not think it would get to this point in year 2.

I'm pretty much speechless

Whitehair is fine. Tell me how tunsil and taking a dl at their original pick isn't suprtior to this

Pace got cute today and pretty much busted his draft. He missed out on so much talent with first round level ability only to trade himself into a not needed true second round talent

Guard is probably the least necessary position on this team

There's no way that George McCaskey would have accepted Tunsil. I doubt that John Fox would care if Tusnil set Halas Hall ablaze to get more of a hit, if he could road grade a few DEs and LBs.

Is there something wrong with Slausen and Long? I thought both of those guys were pretty damn good, I mean aside from NT and maybe WR the Bears' strongest position is guard. AND IF THEY WANTED OL WHY DIDNT THEY TAKE TUNSIL?

George McCaskey can suck my left nut, then, while he spins his would-have-been Super Bowl ring around his finger.

Other than the obvious Bernstein-esque optics - reportedly Tunsil had the lowest Wonderlic score of the top 13 linemen. They may just have thought that he isn't smart enough to learn and execute a pro playbook.

A quarter of the fucking picks so far played for Alabama, Clemson, or Ohio State. Jesus, I could draft given those guidelines.

The Laremy Tunsil playbook: Demolish the sad motherfucker across from you and have fun doing it.

Dont need to be smart to play LT in the NFL. I highly doubt MENSA member Cody Whitehair is going to use his superior intellect to out-negotiate Zeke Ansah into not stepping on poor Cody's droopy face on his way to murdering whatever poor soul is playing QB for this sad sack Bears team.

Remember, the Bears have signed two veteran guards this off season as well

I didn't say I thought that was a good reason... not for a guard. I am just trying to figure out a reason other than George doesn't like weed and hasn't figure out that every guy drafted in the first round probably smokes every week if not every hour.

Drafting BPA is fine, why are people so mad about this draft? Floyd is going to be a polarizing pick for sure but I like most of the others

Will know 3-4 years from now whether this draft sucked or not.

Exactly. No one knows how any of these guys will do.

Floyd maybe great. He maybe a bust.

I am a little disappointed they passed on Tunsil in the 1st.

I love the DE from Florida and the RB from Indiana.

Pro Football Focus gave them an A-, best draft of the division, and behind Cleveland and Jacksonville with five other teams. So a top 25% draft.

But I think that highlights the philosophy which Pace is using, and how it is not particularly fan-friendly.

By getting more picks and trying to maximize market inequities Pace is increasing his bites at the apple or spins of the wheel.

And that was definitely the charge which Paul DePodestra gave his staff in Cleveland. 15 picks??? I don't think I've heard of a team having that many picks in the 7-round era. Hell, in the famous 1983 Bears draft (Covert, Gault, Richardson, Duerson, Thayer, Dent, Bortz... the only miss was Pat Dunsmore) they only had 13 picks.
