I bet Slauson was talking shit about the GM in the locker room. It's the only thing that makes sense about his dumping.

This has to be one of the worst decisions ever.

Slauson, whom everyone considered the best lineman on the team last year, gets cut by Pace to make room for his mistake of a 2nd pick. That's shitty. He was the most expendable because of his age, not because he was a bad player. The speculation that the Bears didn't like his performance is all nonsense, pure lies.

Are we comfortable with Hronus Grassu as the starting center for the Bears, when you could have had Slauson? Ridiculous. I want the veteran. Grassu hasn't proven anything yet that he can play in the NFL.

Worst thing is that Slauson was a leader. That ain't something you can coach, as Pace uses the same cliche about speed. But in Slauson's case, it's true.

Slauson was all heart. Sorry to see him go. And, Pace, you suck.

I'm assuming that Pace feels they have enough depth on the interior to fill Slausen's void -- including the pick of Whitehair to replace him. I would guess Pace was shedding his salary in order to make a play in FA for possible cap casualties or trades coming from other teams that would provide the Bears both a LT (Monroe/Joekel) and DE (Wilkerson).
