I thought he was going to be great when he first made it into the league. He has had several very good seasons. The guy can play. I don't see what there is to mock about the move. He has great speed and is a very good defender, at the very least. Fourth OF with potential to be more if La Roche sucks again. Move Cabrera to DH with Jackson in CF and Eaton in RF.

The team is a lot faster on the basepaths this year by adding Rollins and Jackson.

That's the inherent difference between Cub fans and Sox fans. Sox fans tend to look at everything negatively. You always interpret it as me suggesting Sox fans are somehow smarter than Cub fans. That isn't the case.

Nothing wrong with Austn Jackson, solid journeyman MLB player. Will have his streaks, etc.

Agreed, Sox fans are pretty dumb.

I remember the same group of guys mocking the signing of Jermaine Dye.

Any mediocre player who puts Garcia's butt on the bench is an upgrade.

The Austin Jackson signing is fine. It does improve the team. Maybe marginally, maybe more. We'll see.

I like the Jackson signing, good flippable piece.

So, thats the plan? Flipping players?
Doubt it is the plan, but if they're not competing for the division come July 31, may as well get some prospects for him.

Agreed that signing Austin Jackson is a marginal improvement. An injured LaRoche who is out of the lineup is a bigger improvement.

NOT a year early.

And the Austin Jackson signing might be the best move made in the Chicago baseball offseason, as it pushed Eaton to RF.

I like Jackson.

I still have zero faith in Kenny and/or Hahn. I'm pretty sure they stumbled ass backwards into a great team this year. I also don't give a fuck, because this IS a great team.

Kenny knows what he's doing. Hahn needs to go back to strictly being a negotiator.

Resigning Fowler was the best move in Chicago.
