I know I will get bashed by Sleuth for being negative, but Holmes is getting worse. His show today filling in for Mully, Hanley and Murph had to be the worse 5 hours of self serving radio I have ever heard. Patting himself on the back, picking fights for no reason at all, excpet to make himself look good and trying to compare himself to a Dan Bernstein.

Laurence, go home and look for new work, because you are lost as a radio guy.

He had to work really hard to stuff 5 hours in a 4 hour bag. Plus if you listened the whole time he did his job to keep you on the station, so contrary to what you say he is a radio guy.

No, I didnt keep him on for the 5 hours, but did tune in from time to time on my drive, which totaled a whole 20 minutes, in which he sucked each time.

It's disappointing to say this, but drinky's show today hasn't been much better. While he's not as self-serving as Holmes, drinky's patronizing tone and straw man arguments make for fatiguing sports talk radio. Where's Jason Goff when you need him?

Good call TM. I thought the same thing. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Goff will be any different.

He kept interrupting callers before they even spoke. That one was embarrassing, he kept stopping the guy before he even made a point and then said "can we have a conversation?". The other guy has to be able to talk to have a conversation.

I've been a drinky fan but today wasn't too good.

He's really not any different than Holmes on air with the way he likes to talk down to this listeners.

We'll get to find out tomorrow. Goff is sitting in with Bernstein. I'm looking forward to it.

drinky really needs to remember that his goal as a talk radio host is to be entertaining, not to prove that he's always right and that everyone else is an idiot. In the final days of Last Call, I criticized him for being too giggly and silly that he and Jason seemed to be doing their show strictly for their own enjoyment. His approach as a solo host is also self-indulgent, but in a different way. Now he seems to be doing the show just so he can prove that he's smarter than all of his callers and listeners. His whole shtick amounts to nothing more than an attempt to make himself feel good about his intelligence level. Unfortunately, he's not smart enough to make that act work--very few people are, really--and his humorless demeanor makes his shows feel oppressive. If he wants to advance his radio career, he needs to reinvent his persona--both dramatically and quickly.

I just want to hear more from Paruch. He appears to be the lone part-time host that steers clear from the perceived Bernstein formula. Larry, Goff and Drinky each like to berate those who don't agree with their points. The problem with this trio is that they're just taking only part of Bernstein's on-air personality -- the most-annoying part. Paruch doesn't always agree with his callers, but he deals with them in a much-less vitriolic manner -- as Danny seemed to do as a fill-in for DP.

Heard Laurence last night, he has become must turn the dial radio, which is to bad, I use to like him. Now all he does is overreact to comments by the callers and talks to people like they havent even seen a football game before. He will be gone when Mitch leaves.

I still like him as a Bears reporter, despite his attempts to buddy-up to the players. He's more informational than most team reporters.

As a host Rodeo is right. Something weird happened to Larry. He patronizes his audience. Talks to them like they're 5 year olds. Larry makes simple and obvious observations and makes it seem like he just split the atom. Larry is just bad.

He is a good reporter, that I will agree with and if we forget, Laurence will remind us every 5 minutes when he does a 4 hour show.

Holmes is good. Despite being a Bernstein disciple, I think he's good when he's on-topic. It's when he's talking about all subjects of sports that he loses focus and gets odd and shouty.

I think he is in need of a good co-host. His bears pre-game is quality stuff, but otherwise I think Holmes still has a lot of work to do in order to carry a whole show about sports. I think a co-host could help that process.

Naw..lol. I just think he is prepared when it comes to his reports. I think 5 - 10 minutes of Laurence is fine, anything longer is to much. I think he worries to much about trying to validate his job at the score.

Attention Ladies & Gentlemen: RodeoVann has a very good, well thought out factual answer here - some of you should take notes.
