Longtime Tribune columnist Terry Armour dies at 46
Tribune staff report
December 28, 2007, 6:30 PM CST
Chicago Tribune entertainment columnist Terry Armour died unexpectedly today at age 46.
Armour, a fixture in the Tribune's newsroom and on its pages for nearly three decades, fell ill this afternoon and was taken to a Chicago hospital, where he died.
Armour rose from copy clerk to columnist, along the way covering the Chicago Bulls during their championship run during the 1990s.
"Terry made it look easy because he loved his work, but all of us who knew him realized that he worked hard for that success," Randall Weissman, a deputy managing editor at the Tribune, said in an e-mail to staff members. "In addition to his professionalism, Terry brought laughter and an infectious enthusiasm to the newsroom. His loss will be felt deeply by all of us."
Armour's byline adorns the Billy Goat Tavern's journalist wall of fame and in recent years he had been a host of a midday radio show on the former WCKG-FM.

He was good as a Bulls writer. I never read his entertainment stuff. Never heard his radio show either.

Haven't seen him on TV since he was on the Bulls beat. He was always over weight.

Did he get even bigger since those years?

Does he have a wife or any kids?

Damn.
:(

In the dull hours of sports radio, I was a listener of his & Stan's show. So much for my hopes for FM (or non-sports) talk radio in the near future.

Peace be with you brother :salut:

He was only 46. I like his CKG show and appearances on Ch 9 morning show.
