This is not a World Series caliber team. To let Cole's post game comment get in their heads this easily is pathetic. This franchise will never win a World Series.

Their manager is too busy looking cool in front of the media to manage the team. Sucks for the Cubs, I think they could actually use Ventura, who just lets the players manage the team and then sleeps most of the time. Better than Maddon who's so obsessed with looking like a genius that he'll do boneheaded shit and stick with it to desperately to protect his "genius" rep.

Joe Madden really needs to drop him in the order. It's ridiculous having him in the 2 hole. He should be batting 7th or 8th.

Yep, just get the ball into the OF. You're exactly right. He needs to be moved down and have Russell bat 2nd.

Coles's comments have nothing to do with their struggles last night, or so far tonight. Just happens, even to great teams. They have a really outstanding team and will definitely be contending for the title this year. But dropping Heyward in the order and moving Zobrist into the 2 hole would sure be a good idea.

I would like Zobrist to bat 2nd with his high OBP, but Russell would still be an improvement. Heyward was walking a lot early in the year, so his OBP was okay despite the low BA. But in the past few weeks while pressing, he is swinging at a lot of pitches out of the strike zone and his walk rate has dropped.

I'd much rather see Baez hit than pinch run for Rizzo.

A savvy manager would have pinch run Travis Wood.

So Dr. Teeth pitched a good game again. I'm liking the signing more and more each week.

Good situational hitting by Addy. A productive out, unlike Heyward's last inning.

It would be nice to see Baez here rather than Federovich.

EDIT: Like I said.

You know the answer to that. You need to re-read the part about false Gods.

Hammel and Arrieta take better swings than Federowicz. Why is he still with the team, now that Montero is back? You would think they would bring up someone who was more capable of hitting off the bench.

Maddon fucked up. Why do you pinch run a guy that can put you ahead with one swing for a guy who can win the game with one swing? WTF is that?

Strop another good outing. Get a run and Strop gets the win and Rondon the save. Why didn't Fowler take one for the team on that inside pitch?

I get the move. Baez is very fast and he represented the tying run. But all the more reason to have perhaps another fast infielder or outfielder on the 25 man roster you could have used there instead of Baez to pinch run, rather than having a 3rd catcher taking up that spot.

Of course Heyward gets a hit with nobody on. No shock he only had 60 RBI last year. Not a good situational hitter.
