Nyquist out after spiking a temperature.

Watching Exaggerator's Preakness again, I question whether he can get the distance seeing him bear in when switching leads.

Exaggerator will probably win, but it's up for grabs who will come in after him.

The horse I like didn't get a good trip in the Derby but has previously proven he's faster than Exaggerator and Suddenbreakingnews. And he's getting a good price, too.

I like Governor Malibu over Unified. JORR"s Brody's Cause will probably be close at the wire, as he grinds it out down the stretch.

Brody's Cause was born to win this race.

Going to Long Island tomorrow. We're going to spend the early afternoon at Belmont before our dinner plans. Never been to Belmont before.

Call me nuts, but I kind of like Creator in the Belmont along with Governor Malibu. Creator showed his true colors in the Arkansas Derby, besting Exaggerator and Suddenbreaking news in that race. The field in the Kentucky Derby was too large for a horse with Creator's closer style to have a chance coming from behind. With less horses running in the Belmont, I think he'll have a better trip. He's got the pedigree for the distance.

The other horse I like, Governor Malibu, came on strong late in the Peter Pan. He would have overtaken Unified, had there been another 1/16 mi. to run or longer. Plus, he'll be the hometown horse at Belmont, being New York bred. His lineage includes Belmont winner, A.P. Indy, and from the same, Secretariat!!!

One more word on Creator: of the Derby prep races I followed, the most impressive run by a horse was Creator in the Arkansas Derby. He was last, before putting it in gear at the half mile pole and then came on like a monster. By the far turn, he was only four or five back, before he squeezed through the tiniest of openings six wide and ran past Cherry Wine. Even the guy doing the call didn't believe Creator could do it, yet he surprised big-time.

Don't count this scrappy horse out.

There doesn't look to be much speed in there. It looks like Pletcher will try to steal it on the front with Destin. He is Destined to be the "wiseguy horse" along with Suddenbreakingnews.

Besides Destin, there's speed with Unified, Adventist and Laoban. But I don't see any of these horses competing. Not enough gas in the tank for 1 1/2 miles.

This morning I came across an article about updated odds on the Belmont, where Governor Malibu has been made Exaggerator's main contender by the bookies at 13/2. Just when I thought I found some value in Governor Malibu, they go ahead and bid it to take away the nice price for me. Figures. I think the futures odds are b.s. anyway before the post positions are known. They're not being set by any real money.

Some news on Creator is that Irad Ortiz Jr. will be riding him, who is all too familiar with the Belmont track. I like him even more now.

I'm not sure any of those guys are starting.
