I guess it's not a big deal but I don't like modern baseball pants and no stirrups.

I always thought those long pants looked like it would slow them down.

If you're going to do it, don't you have to do it right? Long baggy pants look wrong even in modern uniforms; they look downright ridiculous as applied to the 1976 Brewers.

I once read that the big complaint about the stirrup was that uncomfortable 1 inch strip at the bottom of the feat. I remember them being annoying and irritating as well back in my playing days.

Can't Nike or Reebok create a one piece sock that appears to be a stirrup nowadays? The White Sox had them in 1976...

That'd be the thing to do. Honestly, stirrups look stupid now that you can wear solid socks without dying of blood poisoning.

wear your socks up high makes your strike zone look smaller too.

Says you, and a few others.

Who cares how they wear their pants? Christsake.

You consume the product. That doesn't mean you get to tell the company / organization how their employees should dress.

You know what most players think? That stirrups look atrocious.

It's an opinion. No one's telling anyone how to do anything. Chill out.

Truth be told, most of these old uniforms with pullovers and stirrups and powder blue look stupid and probably shouldn't be thrown back to at all. But if you're going to do it, you should try to get it right as best you can. You probably wouldn't dress up as John Travolta's character from Saturday Night Fever for Halloween but wear your normal gym shoes because they're comfortable, unless you're doing it to trick-or-treat as an eight-year-old, in which case why are you an eight-year-old dressing as John Travolta?

Agreed; why do it but only half-assed?

The one thing they got right was not allowing the Phillies to do the powder blue unis.... in my bottom 10 unis of all time. Maroon and powder blue are not a match.

Well, it was a home game for them, so they wouldn't have worn powder blue. I don't think anyone ever wore that color at home. Maybe Toronto did?

I think those colors look good together:

They need to bring back the stirrups full-time. That baggy pant shit is trash & the tucking into the socks thing is just fucking stupid.

Yep. do it right or don't do it.
I don't need the stirrups in my MLB uniforms....could care less. But it's a huge part of a throwback uniform.
