I think something like this ... anything objective that eliminates the fan vote, frankly ... would be just fantastic. Save the fan vote for the one late addition or something to throw them a token bone.

Whatever the case, a sport that uniquely loves its numbers should logically have its AS game governed by that devotion, a game that (like it or not ... and the correct answer is 'not') determine home field advantage for its championship.

The better answer is to not have the championship HFA determined by absurd games. There are many (not MANY) more satisfying ways to determine HFA.
