This game reminds me of the old school NBA.

He's a soft little bitch. If GS didn't quit that first game in Cleveland they could have been home with their boo's and the ring.

What a terrible 4th quarter by the Warriors. Hopefully we get a competitive game 6. Kyrie and LeBron just dominated them.

question...

if the Cavs end up winning the title, does Lebron vindicate his "failures" :?:

James drive, foul, shot and one into Brandon Rush? James needs to do that all the time in the 4th, the way Jordan used to live off of those plays in 4th quarters in playoff games.

I think his two titles have already done that. Even if he finishes his career with only those 2 rings, it's really hard to talk shit about someone with TWO rings.

He's trying to catch Jerry West for Finals losses.

there'd be an asterisk in the record books--for the bitch game--for this series if Cleveland comes back to take the title.

Tough to beat Elgin Baylor in that department. I think he lost like 6 of them, never won one, and then retired at the beginning of the season and the Lakers almost immediately won 33 straight and then won the title that year.

i think if you beat the best record team, who won the year before...it's kind of a thing.

I can not fucking stand any team that's looking to take a 3 pointer on every single possession, but it's obvious that Steph Curry is in the conversation for greatest shooter of all time. Can you explain to me how Kyrie Irving would be considered a better overall PG than Steph from an offensive perspective? Because I'm getting some America type vibes from your posts. I generally don't give a shit about basketball when the Bulls are irrelevant, so I rarely ever frequent/lurk in the NBA forums. Forgive my ignorance - you might be perfectly sane for all I know.

Curry shoots better than Irving and that's about it, though Irving can shoot also. He has won a 3 point contest in his career. Irving has a better handle, better mid range and is a better finisher at the rim. He has the most complete skill set of any pg in the league. He gave G.S. about 25-30 on one leg in the only game that he played last season. In that game Curry ducked the cover though Irving did guard him. He checked the MVP on one leg Curry can handle also but he doesn't have it on a string quite like Irving.

Wrong again.

Not wrong. Kyrie never plays defense. He didn't play well tonight defensively. It didn't matter because he had a Steph-esque offensive game. If you bury the other team in buckets defense isn't really important.

Steph Curry shot 8-21. I'm still waiting for that oh so stellar Steph Curry defensive performance. Irving is after all, checking one of the greatest offensive players. How do we know? Because the "numbers" tell us this. Curry has only had one blow up game this series yet Irving's defense is atrocious.

Meanwhile they removed Curry 3 games ago because he couldn't handle him yet his defense is better. This is not exactly a sound logical argument. Just admit you're wrong and move on.

I thought you watched the games. If you did, you would know Steph missed a lot of open shots tonight. It wasn't exactly tough defense forcing bad shots.

But it doesn't matter. It's one game. If Kyrie played like this more often, than he would be the best player in the game. Consistency matters. Steph has significantly better production than Kyrie over the course of the past year; two years, and for their career.

Kyrie Irving is better than Curry was at the same stage of their career. His career numbers are similar even now and he is a multiple time all star. These past two series have shown that Curry is probably not the most valuable player on his own team. Kyrie Irving has 2 50 plus games in his career.

As I stated earlier most complete skill set of any guard in the league. I predicted that he'd outplay him this series and he clearly has. G.S. can win but Curry can't hide behind that. He is not an all time anything.

I agree with you FF, but the only thing I'll say in Irving's defense is he just turned 24 about 2 and a half months ago. Curry took his leap around age 26. Idk if Irving can take that same leap, but his skill set is at least in the same ball park as Curry when he was 24.

Curry is without a doubt the best shooter in the history of the game. Two time MvP, best player on a 73 win team, and quite possibly two time champion by week's end. Much to Lebron's chagrin Curry is the face of the NBA, and Irving just isn't there yet. If the Cavs come back and win this then some variables change in the argument. Wait and see I guess.

How does Irving have the most complete skill set of any guard when he can't play defense, and Russell Westbrook is still alive? That's not a good take right there. Bayless-esque.

We aren't talking about the same stage of their career. Let's not move the goalposts. I watch the games and see the stats that back the games up. Kyrie is unequivocally outplaying Curry through 5 games this series. Curry was unequivocally the better player this year and the past two. If Kyrie keeps doing what he has the past three games the next two and the Cavs win I will begin to change my mind.

Steph has put up historic numbers at a consistent pace for a whole calendar year. I'm not going to write him off after a couple series in which he plays below expectations. It's really that simple.
