A Rondo/Wade/Butler/Lopez/whoever starting lineup would have some of the worst spacing in the entire league. I was already done with the excuses for Hoiberg a while ago but if he's signing off on this I don't want to hear any sympathy whatsoever about his poor misunderstood system and the players who are a bad fit for it this season.

I don't care about fits for the system as much as I care about not seeing another year of Dunleavy starting at the 3. I'd be in favor of seeing the collective dead corpses of Drazen Petrovic and Reggie Lewis if it means keeping his bum ass off the floor.

It's obvious that GarPax are trying to justify the firing of Thibs. If you are going to keep that malcontent Butler, then you might as well surround him with a few guys that know how to play.

Fine, I just don't want to hear next off-season that what Fred really needs are guys willing to move off the ball that can sink the 3 at a high rate or that we can't yet evaluate the revolutionary system known as Hoiball and it would be unfair to hold him accountable at all. According to the press he was as enthusiastic about the Rondo signing as anyone, and if anyone thought Butler was a "malcontent" who refused to listen to the coach, they better brace themselves for Rondoball.

The person that needed to buy in was Butler. He was the person fighting the system. These are not ideal guys but if the choice is between Calderon/Dunleavy or Wade/Rondo, I take Wade/Rondo. GarPax are trying to keep the Bulls relevant. Hoi berg has to win games and at least get the team into the playoffs.

Forget style of play you need talent. A good coach can adjust to the players that he has. Calderon and Dunleavy will swing the hell out of the ball and make the right play 90% of the time. They will also hit open jump shots. They can't guard their lunch and can't beat guys off the dribble.

Their being the right fit ensures the Bulls win 20 games. Can't watch that shitshow.

Yes, let's get upset at top players that work hard, have a strong desire to win and want to hold their teammates and organization accountable.

But lazy players and terrible executives get a pass.

If you think Butler needing the ball in his hands at all times hurt the full realization of Hoiberg's revolutionary basketball vision, it's a good thing the Bulls are trying to add 2 more ball-dominant players this off-season!

Again, I just don't want to hear any more excuses trotted out for "The Mayor" this year. If his failure last year was an issue of talent, these signings should end that excuse. And if the issue last year was guys not buying into the system, then that's no longer a valid excuse either given his endorsement of guys even more unlikely to fit it than Butler.

You win with talent, not systems. The Bulls lost 3 of their top 4 players last season. They need players.

Let's laud players that publicly throw coaches under the bus, break off plays, and anoint themselves leader of the team. Let's also laud a guy that curses out coaches in team meetings and tells the coach he will play only if allowed to be the team's point guard. Yeah that's a recipe for winning.

Please no to Wade. He had his chance to come back. Instead he played spy for Pat Riley.

Thankfully you gotta think Wade is just using the Bulls to get more money out of the Heat.

If he wanted the most money he would be going with the Nuggets.

What are you talking about? The guy you just described just won the NBA title.

Jimmy Butler ain't no LeBron James, and Jose Calderon surely ain't Kyrie Irving.

Dwayne Wade or another season of Mike Dunleavy? You decide.

Wade had a better year than Butler last season also.

Bulls abt to trade 2 of their best 3-pt shooters so they can have Wade, Butler and Rondo, who can't shoot at all.

Chris Herring added,

Sources: Two players Bulls are calling everyone with space on: Jose Calderon and Mike Dunleavy. Those contracts get them toward Wade space.

If they get this done, at least next season will be entertaining to watch.

Butler. These past 2 seasons have humbled Rondo. Butler has yet to have his come to Jesus moment. He is still new money.

Pretty obvious Kenny Williams is now running the Bulls.

Kenny Williams would never have taken a flyer on Etwaun Moore. He is more of a Manu Ginobili signing kind of GM.

Pending Chicago's belief they have deal to clear cap space, Dwyane Wade is nearing commitment to sign with Bulls, sources tell @TheVertical

5 years late and he's more damaged than Rose but I like it and him. It also helps repair the Bulls image with free agents.

OF COURSE the fucking Bulls finally get the prodigal son Wade to return home 6 years after it would be of any use. This team is going to be an atrocious train wreck but at least taking bets on who the first one to take a swing at Hoiberg is should be entertaining. FUCK GARPAX, FUCK REINSDORF, FUCK BENNY FOR RETIRING, FUCK CALDERON FOR GETTING OUT, FUCK ME FOR HAVING TO FIND THIS WEIRD NEW SITE, FUCK IOWA STATE, FUCK NEW MEXICO, FUCK TONY SNELLS, FUCKING A.

I bet Thibs is thinking about rolling with Dunn and Wiggins and Towns and laughing his fucking ass off right now. This is all karma from when Pax punched Vinny in the face coming home to roost.

They are going to be one of the worst shooting teams in the modern NBA which will be fun. Should be great to watch them run the clogged toilet offense. Plus they are going to be real bad at defending athletic wings even when healthy but can you imagine what is going to happen as the inevitable injuries pile up?

The roster of weak PF & C is disturbing.

But they get a 2nd from Cavs, right?

So the Bulls traded one year of Dunleavy's contract, one year of Calderon's contract, and a 2nd round pick for two years of Wade? That is fine.

Wade should perform well enough in those two years. Not $23M a season well...but he will help the Bulls fight for a bad playoff seed...or hurt the Bulls' tanking efforts.
