couples who previously couldn't be arsed to go out to a baseball game will have a baby and suddenly wanna go to games and drag along their under year old kid to no one's pleasure, least of all the kid's.

I think you're painting with a broad brush. My wife and I jump through hoops to never take our kid out unless it's a very controlled environment. Some of it is unavoidable, though. Then we have to get shamed by people like JORR.
