I went once in the early oughts and saw Elvis Costello there -- a quick search shows me this was 2003, and one other time with a girlfriend who wanted to go. It really isn't worth commuting over there, but I could see if you were in the city as a vacationer, it might be something interesting to check out. I was interviewed in the Tribune because I was eating some sort of east Asian dish of rice and gizzards/livers and the reporter feigned shock that of all the foods someone would try that. But agree with others, you should just take your money and go to the restaurant.

Make it 10 days again and make stretch it from Roosevelt to Madison. As nice as it is to keep Balbo and Jackson open from the drive the fest needs more room and more vendors.

Tell the NFL draft to enjoy Philadelphia and tell Lollapalooza to shove it (this should have been done a LONG time ago). Then take blues fest, jazz fest...all the fucking fests...and fold them into this 10 day thing. So the first weekend is blues weekend, and all the acts are blues acts and its basically blues fest with better food. Then you have the XRT crowd day, and the Chance the Rapper day, and every day on and on. That way Chicago gets its nice big front porch party downtown and all the streets are only closed for that 10 day period then we get Columbus back for the rest of the year.

It also needs to be cheaper to get the food. "taste" portions have gone from 3 tix, to 4 tix to the now ludicrous 5 tix. At least 4 was still divisible by 12, now you're left with 2 extra useless tickets after just two places. This is the kind of shitty behavior the city of Chicago is notorious for engaging in that ruins things that are otherwise brilliant, like the Taste.
