From the sound of it, he's not too pleased with Bernstein for agreeing with Telander about some of the things he said about North. I love when there's a little internal fighting.

Between North's own seeming 'personal issues' and that Bernstein did fairly well on a national level filling in for Dan Patrick(something North has failed at), my guess would be that North will likely start taking more shots at Bernstein as the end of his last fat contract approaches. That North would frame it in that way is laughable. "Everyone tells me not to like him"??? That's juvenille.

I'm always amazed that Boers' shots at the blowhard are either missed or convienently ignored though. Last week Boers took a direct shot at North & his routine reliance on B-12 shots. He(Boers) did admit that he once considered the shot, got ridiculed and learned his lesson,...unlike others. Of course that the 'meatball' & 'hey Chicago' fan/host cracks are aimed directly North's way is always overlooked.

But then again, Boers does at least pay lip service to liking (but not respecting) the guy.

If the CBS neckties would ever grow a collective "set", they would pair North and Berns together.

I'm with you spmack...I like the fighting as well. To be specific, though, North was mad at Bernstein because Bernsie mentioned on the air that he had talked directly with Telander about the recent flap with Pappy. Bernstein said he told him that he knew what was being said and that Telander's "radio Hell" would only last 3 days. Apparently North saw it as Bernstein going behind his back and also as taking a shot at him, but I think it's much ado about nothing.

Over the last three days, North has taken shots at Mulli, Hanley and Dan. I guess it time to start being pissy with his "teammates" because he cant comprehend what he reads and his sole defense is to make it personal.

I dont think Mike wants to get into a verbal argument with any of those 3 because he would be destroyed.

Oh yeah. He's irrelevant. It's just idiot Pappy spewing stupidity. Bernstein is the Score's biggest star.

Pappy is just the guy of whom they're waiting for the contract to expire.

Bernstein can't win his time slot either.

He could if he was on Mornings, that I would bet on. Difference between North and Dan is that Dan wants the score to do well, North doesnt care as long as he gets his cash and name in the paper.

Because of the Telander column, I did tune in and his show is so bad, I dont think anyone involved with it cares any longer, right now, all of them are just stealing money.

Bernstein and Telander are both snobs. I wish Bernstein would get a national gig and leave the Score. I miss listening to Boers. It's going on 3 years since I have listened to their show. Thank God for MJH.

I have met Dan, he isnt a snob. He isnt anymore opinionated then Mac, is Mac a snob? I just think people get the wrong impression when it comes to Dan, he has strong opinions, thats it and there isnt really anything wrong with it.

SID, is this opinion based on encounters with Bernsie?

A lot of the people on this board are bandwagon-jumping groupthinkers who either feel like they have to have some sense of solidarity with those who resent North for ripping these boards, or they feel as if they maintain some elite type of status because of their use and dependence on the internet and North does not.

Hanley & Mully do not want a piece of Mike - he is their lead-in, and Bernstein ALWAYS softballs it when confronted with an experienced debater or interviewee.

I've said before that I think North is a good interviewer, but he is without question the WORST debater on radio. The only reason he appears to win an argument is that he has surrounded himself with people who are too meek to stick to their guns (Anne, Jen, Fred,...etc.) and he shouts them down. His debates regularly feature a strawman base supported by red herring examples. Bernstein would poke holes in North's logic so quickly his head would spin.

I think there's a difference between burying someone in a debate and having your opponent decide that it's no longer worth the effort to continue talking to you.

Sean Hannity is a bit of a whiner, but it's a good listen.

Thje reason why North sounds good in one on one "debates" is that he never shuts up - he yells, badgers, and stays on his only point - no matter how ridiculous - unitl people either give up or realize that this is going absoutley nowhere.

He is the loudmouth at the end of the bar - interesting for a few seconds, and then you want to slit your throat if that would get him to shut the hell up.

Well I mean what did you expect? To hear the muffled sounds of punching and cursing as they grappled in the studio over the air? That's the business. Generate a lot of hot air, and when the issue moves into the reality of a studio, happy faces everyone.

KS, I guess you don't remember North's transitions with Mike and Brian.
My favorite interlude involved North taking Mully to task for a Bears column. The best part of the discussion centered on North's admittance to not reading the story -- just the headline. You could hear the veins in North's neck explode as Brian, Mully -- and even Annie -- whittled Northy down to size. Strange thing, the transitions disappeared shortly thereafter.
KS, you point back to an earlier thread. I guess you missed the part of that discussion that centered on Mike's interview pitfalls.
Those guys would take him to school -- I've already heard Mike and Brian do it.

I always thought it was the Mully/Murph "do your job" blowup that killed transitions

Yeah I think it was the Murph/Mulligan "face to face over the phone" (?) transition that ended it. I have it recorded on my old phone from a few years ago. If I figure out how to get it online I will.

That one and the Boers vs. Telander argument over Michael Jordan were the best transitions ever. I miss that stuff.

Yeah, Mulligan vs Boers was pretty good too. I think Boers said something bad about guys who like soccer, and Mulligan to exception to it.
