from the bits i heard yesterday it sounded like Dan was trying to talk himself in to truly caring about the SHW aspect but couldn't get to that point... yet didnt have the balls to say that's how he actually feels and not what he is supposed to say to be PC/SJW compatible.

Did you hear the part where he asked, "why is there a knife in the clubhouse anyway?"

Why can't a knife be in the clubhouse, Danny?

dan's whole early rant about needing specifics on why the uniform prevents chris sale from performing was..... unfortunate. is it that hard to understand that if the clothes make him feel uncomfortable it could impact his ability to perform? you dont need a metric to quantify the level of uncomfortableness... it doesnt excuse sale's childlike response but it's not hard to understand why he would be opposed to the uniform.

Hour 3 is up, Matt's rant is first up.

He is unquestionably firing shots across the respective bows of Big Red, Baffoe and their sycophants.

Said he hates how a team feels forced to speak about the social aspect of a baseball move, and how the team and its fans are labeled as not caring about the "social justice" of employing someone like Chapman.

He also said he is irritated by people that "have the need to have this social justice, on social media...that you feel you have to be angry about it." Later he said that a fan doesn't have to be angry about the move, and that doesn't mean they think domestic violence is OK.

Finally, he takes a shot at those whose outrage on social media appears to be more about garnering attention for themselves than it is genuine distaste for the move. Dan seemed to sense about whom Drinky was speaking, and interjected with "I think some are honest about it", and Matt wasn't having it, saying "I think some are, but the majority, especially on social media, are not."

I think that last thought wasn't formulated with anyone in mind. But that's my opinion. You think Matt's afraid to call Julie or the pizza guy out? I don't think so.

Many (not Big Fan's MANY) people I know carry a pocket knife. I missed what kind of knife was used, but I assume sharps are kept in the trainers room, eating area's, etc...If I was more savy I'd put up a Seinfeld meme involving the cotton uniforms.

I disagree.

Chris had ample time to explain precisely why the uniform would prevent him from pitching ... since spring training actually (when they were tailoring the uniforms for the players) is my understanding.

If there's something specifically physically impairing about that uniform, any rational adult says what it is ... it's not like Sale would have the slightest concern about some sort of 'retribution' coming from his manager or front office or owner b/c he dared speak up about something on the playfield in regards to his concerns about it affecting his ability to perform his job. I would suspect any respected professional given inferior conditions or equipment within which to work would not only be able to rather easily quantify the deficiencies, but would also be more than willing to do so, particularly in cases where there was no reasonable expectation of facing any negative consequences for doing so.

Nah, he sat on this important information in April, May, June, July ... he still hasn't said what exactly about the uniform (would have) impacted his performance. Instead, he decided to be a petulant nitwit and throw a tantrum that's comfortably on the Zambrano spectrum.

And lest the bored intelligentsia ask the brilliant question 'what if he were in a Cub uniform', (a) I just invoked Zambrano as an example of the highest order of being a loony toon, and (b) it wouldn't change my opinion in the slightest about his spat of stupidity.

No I don't believe he is either because the hypocrisy of those people is ridiculous. No one has time to check the backgrounds of every business/employees to ensure they employ reputable people. I have no idea if the woman at the coffee shop this morning didn't sell drugs out of her car ten years ago, and I have no idea if the person who owns the gas station I frequent has hit his wife. If I did know these things would it affect my use of those businesses? Probably not, but this generation of self entitlement of needing to always feel good about things is mind numbing. I don't need Baffoe to tell me Patrick Kane isn't my friend...no shit sherlock...and I don't need JDC to tell me about rape reporting %'s while self admitting that Bill Clinton is a cool guy. Keep up the good work Matty, as at least we know where you stand.

Thank you!

The people who claim to be "deeply troubled" by their favorite team signing a player who has either been accused or convicted or something don't seem to understand exactly what you explained. Additionally, I'd wager that nearly all of them watch TV shows and movies featuring men (or women) who have had problems with domestic abuse/sexual assault or listen to music that falls into the same category.

Hell, many of them probably watch Girls, Woody Allen movies, and listen to Michael Jackson and Tupac.

I'm not sure, it's certainly possible he was speaking generally at the "look at me being outraged" culture that envelops twitter, like, constantly. But though it is hearsay, I'm hearing that Matty doesn't think too highly of Big Red and her mode of Social Justice mongering. If that is indeed true, it becomes much more probable that he was leveling his sights on her and those like her.

Thing is--and this is the beauty of the modern SJW--he "can't" (because he doesn't have the juice) come right out and antagonize Julie and her ilk for their faux outrage about Chapman, because the object of their outrage is domestic violence, and who can come out looking rosy by opposing that? We see it when Baffoe gets called on the "1 in 5" statistic: anyone that dares to question him directly gets painted as enabling rape and calling victims liars. Even yesterday when Drinky only spoke generally, he said they were receiving texts from people saying he likes domestic abuse and enables abusers.

All he can do is take tangential shots, because anything more direct without a substantial following/listenership/backing is media suicide.

I'm totally amazed not a care about someone that chokes and shoots at his girl. but a guy that cuts up jersey's is a psycho. In the case of the Cubs the end justifies the mean

you clearly have not been listening the last few days if you think there is "not a care" about the Chapman situation.

You are right but you have to admit that given the time spent on Kane the Chapman fallout should be bigger on B&B? I mean basically Dan is treating this only as a PR issue for the Cubs.

I used to hate wearing black socks to church on Sunday as a kid. I didn't mind dressing up but the socks made my skin crawl. My mom would ask me to explain why and I couldn't because (I know think because they weren't natural fibers)

Rock on Chris. Thanks mom for not just accepting what I had to say it didn't affect me at all
