Bears OLB Leonard Floyd just left practice on a cart. Media policy prohibits us from saying more. We'll ask coach John Fox for status update

That's how Ryan Pace likes his first round picks.

 I was just getting ready to say I couldn't wait until this got spun as Paces fault for drafting an injury prone guy.

This media policy is going to really give us a leg up on the other teams.

Good maybe they can take that leg and use it to replace the one that Floyd can't use anymore

What a surprise, that string bean should be playing in the NBA not the NFL.

Pretender? Nah... He's just not a very good football player..he's like 25 and couldn't dominate college Kidd, I see fullbacks and halfbacks running over him easily in the near future.

I'm watching the game last night and Floyd looks like a walk on type. He is really, really, really skinny. He will get killed in a game. They tried to add weight on their last LB "project" after figuring out he wasn't a DE. It looks like the same thing here. When does this blowing a high pick stuff end? Hopefully,White can be a wideout who can play!

Everyone knew this was a dumb pick right when they made it.

I live outside of Atlanta and everyone is SEC/Bulldogs crazy. I saw we drafted a guy from Georgia so I started asking peoples thoughts on him. I couldn't remember his name but assumed if they had a stud defensive player going top 10, they'd know who. Five different people weren't sure who the bears had drafted. So yeah, I think we are fucked.

The common response was, "we had someone go in the top 10?" fuck.

For sure. I recall watching the draft live and looking at the various options by posters on this board. No one expected or wanted Floyd. It made no sense. I think the Bears need to outsource their first round draft selections, although they did "find" Long.....so don't outsource to Hub.

Flloyds just a guy. Talent shows up right away on tape at certain positions imo, even if the guy isn't making the play itself right out of the gate. It doesn't take much time to see it. There's nothing there with this dude and I feel comfortable saying it this early. Dudes a wasted pick. Another dumb Bears 'smartest guy in the room' pick.

There must be some temptation with the draft that's hard to understand. The Bears are in rebuild mode - they should pick guys who are proven and have performed... not guys who might be superstars if 10 different things go perfectly. I think Floyd's career high in sacks was like 6 or something stupid.

I feel it goes back to hitting on Urlacher. From what I remember there was some question about stuffing an over sized SS into a LB, especially with the number 9 pick. They've been looking to be forward thinking and innovate since then.

Shouldn't change the model, then. You stuff oversized players into bigger player positions. You don't stuff undersized players into bigger player positions.

Yeah, but that was eons ago. Unless the McCaskeys are still influencing these decisions, that shouldn't matter.

Wouldn't that be the most McCaskey thing ever though? Beat the Packers and find the next Urlacher/Butkus.

He was the 1 guy out of the top 11 picks I had projected who I absolutely did not want.

He is our guy now. Time to be unrealistically positive.

My hope is that he can live on the speed rush this year and develop moves as his career progresses. Give me a rookie year like Anderson a few years back and I would be happy

He is already a better all-around player than Anderson was during his entire Chicago tenure.
