One of my dealers for other things used to talk about going to some place near Cicero/Roosevelt called the brickyard for H. I've only found it myself at Cabrini (now gone) and the huge public housing project at Western and Madison (Rockwell Gardens? big building's gone for a decade or more now).

I'd never go into Cabrini or Rockwell solo tho. Always paid a local to go in and come back out with. Cabrini was always lit up like a Christmas tree. Rockwell, this was toward the end, was fucking scary at 3 AM as a lot of the lights didn't work. And junkies and crackheads milling about out front like zombies from the walking dead. Image

Rockwell used to be near Jackson/Western. I remember one of my former students told me that a local drug dealer had purchased one of the buildings for 10 mil. That was funny.

The movie is awesome. Highly recommend.

one of the online dating sites, matchcocks.com or whatever, did a survey of their users a few years back and asked the users of their site if they'd date smokers....found out that not even the smokers wanted anything to do with dating smokers.

It's 2016, or 2014 in the survey. How anyone this side of a brain-injury still smokes... Heroin, you can kind of understand. See the Flaming Lips dude video above. But...cigarettes? 15$ a pack to have bad breath, smell like an ashtray and die a slow, painful, before-your-time death. Image

The building we went to was North of Jackson, so maybe officially Adams? But we'd take Madison west of Western and then go south on Campbell a block or two to get there. Or just park on Madison and hoof it.

I don't get the copping while driving thing people do on the West Side. I felt safer being on foot than rolling up to a spot in my car and doing a deal through the window.

Lost a neighbor to an overdose near Roosevelt-Cicero. They found her in a field off of 14th St.

If you got out of your car near Campbell and Adams Hussra, then you are some sort of bad ass. Maplewood Courts was a small project surrounded by Rockwell, that was the next block west. Much tougher place then Rockwell too.
