Darko, the point is that the Sox gave Quintana a 3 run lead, and by the 3rd inning it was a 1 run lead. Quintana does that a lot.

First of all, he would still get a "win" in your scenario. So I'm not sure how you even decided to discuss below .500. Secondly, how often does the above happen in regards to other "top tier" pitchers? How often do the White Sox give him a lead before Quintana gives up any runs? Especially three or more runs?

People that claim things like that have some data points.

Good idea. You got a team that can't hit and can't field so why not weaken the starting pitching while you're at it and then they can't do anything.
You want more wins from Quintana it's simple. Surround him with a real baseball team.

This is just stupid when you consider that he is 5-1 in his last 9 starts with a 2 ERA and hasn't lost a game since at least last year when the offense has scored at least 3 runs.
