Ladd, IL.

I've mentioned it many times in the past. Best fried chicken in the world. As Gene Hackman would say "without discussion".

Will be featured on Chicago's Best tonight at 10pm. I'm almost sad that the word will get out.

But, as a wise man once said, some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you eat in is that much more drab and empty that they're popular. I guess I just miss my chicken.

Yep.

There's a common theme I've always found to be true...

If a place's menu only has a handful of items and the listed hours just tell when the last "batch" goes in, it's some damn good food.

If you watch carefully, you'll see Dr. Ken's brother, Sir Dr. Ken The Elder in the background.

I wish I could tell you that the chicken fought the good fight, and the Cooks let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but Rips is no fairy-tale world.

Similar to irony, they don't get the Internet there.

I've been there 300 times and never seen a physical menu.

My parents stay in Amboy so I think I know where I'm going now for lunch.

Yes. But not as good as the chicken.

They aren't open for lunch.

Do a double-breaded cheeseburger at Ziggie's in Mendota with fries and a side of gravy for lunch and then go to Rip's for dinner.

Then have an angioplasty for breakfast.

They did just move the hospital a block away. It's nice. Free helicopter to Rockford.

It's weird to see Hulk in blue.

It's a road trip episode.

It's like going to Rolling Meadows.

Doc, you know anywhere around Nape and surrounding area (but not as far as Ladd) to get a pork tenderloin sandwich?

Raymes in Lisle has a pretty good one.

Also, Home of The King-Sized Cocktails.

thanks for making me watch this terrible show.

Bonus: some old guy at Lino's in Rockford nearly kicks the bucket lifting a large pan.

Menu is on a dry-erase light up board as you walk in from the bar (look up).

Tenderloin- Smitty's in Leonore for sheer size.

I'm not driving an hour and a half away to some dead ass town for fried chicken when Popeye's is probably better anyways.
