You can't have your Cake and hear it, too.

I was wheeling my grill out of the garage and into my driveway last night. Thought I had room. Nope. Ended up scratching a huge gash into my car's hood.

So today I am taking a dump in my ground level bathroom, and I notice that the shower is all backed up with water and god knows what out the drain. My first thought is which kid tried to take a shower here and didn't say anything. Anyway, I hear the downstairs pump kick on, and boom - three more gallons of water/filth are in the shower. This is not good. Try to wait it out a bit, but it keeps getting higher and higher. I do a bucket brigade, taking buckets of water from there and dumping them in the utility sink. When I go back to the shower, I see water surging upwards from the drain. After realizing I am getting nothing done after a couple of buckets, I start taking the buckets outside to the sump pump drain, and finally start making some progress. Call the plumber and they say they'll call back when they can come over.

A few hours pass, and the shower completely drains, but there's shit all over the shower floor. Told the family no faucet gets turned on, no toilet gets flushed, no dishwasher, no washing machine until the plumber gets here. So he comes over, and says, hey you got a hell of a hole over here. I am always entering/leaving through the garage... never actually go out past the front door, but there's about a foot and half drop to the right of the entrance -- this is at least new in the last three months or so. I show him the shower which is drained but crap all over it... we go downstairs and check out some of the waste pipes. It's 80% finished basement, so we're looking where we can. Go to the master drain which is the same place where the sinkhole is. He says I"m gonna open the blow out, don't have anyone do anything with the water.

He opens it up, and the sewer pipe out of the foundation has sunk so far down maybe 20% of the interior pipe is routing to it. All sorts of fecal sludge and TP are stuck there -- they pushed as much through as they could, said basically we have to get this all dug up and most likely will need to run new pipe to the sewer. He blames the downspout corrigated balck pipe with probably having a hole or something and gradually eroding underneath the pipe until it couldn't take the pressure anymore.

Annoying as hell and of course your homeowner's insurance doesn't cover plumbing issues outside of the house unless you add a rider onto it. And we probably have been dumping raw sewage on the side of the foundation for a year at least (who knows how long this has been an issue) so I can't imagine that is good. Just pissed and venting.

You know you are getting older when you have a meeting with a lawyer to get a will done. I think my wife and I are a bit behind in this respect but we both just turned 40
and have to get something like this done. Just never know what might happen and she has kids so plans have to be made. I took some time to ponder what needed
to be done with my ashes after my death so I need to put that down in writing and hopefully it gets taken care of. To steal a phrase from old Mackeyfish, I'm on the
back nine of life now.

newper, is the pipe coming out of the foundation PVC, Clay, or Ductile Iron?

they should not have to replace the pipe to the main...that's ridiculous.

plumber should be able to "lift" the pipe that fell with a crow bar and then insert a smaller diameter sleeve into the outside pipe, and connect that to the ejector or stack.

Took a liner off the forearm while pitching in softball last night. Had to come out and blacked out from the pain for a few seconds. Was really weird, it didn't feel too bad after it happened and then it hurt worse and worse til I keeled over a few minutes later and then when I came to it didn't hurt much again. Guess it's like when you throw up and feel better or something.

Holy crap, one of my scars from the chainsaw accident has blistered--splitting the scar down the incision line--and now appears to be seriously infected. Back to the doctor's office for about the 50th time in the past few months...

Negative. A queue would definitely form. A competition of your choosing to determine portions of tune collection worthiness should be initiated...at the proper time....
