Juicy-O is terrible. And it's a mundane chain. When your calling card is free donut holes, you should go sponsor a Sox stadium or something.

One more word and I will rip your fucking heart out.

Juicy-O apparently spawns visceral feelings.

Gross. I thought more highly of you guys than that (well, at least DannyB).

Juicy-O is bad. I think they only serve breakfast and lunch, anyway. They don't belong in this thread.

Another place I'd call old school, although it was somewhat specific and atypical, was Fisherman's Inn on 47. Man, these places are dropping like flies. We need to landmark them or something.

You ever make it up to Crandall's on 47, just north of Hebron but before the state line? They make (made?) some greasy fried chicken.

Actually, they're back open. Right now it's just for weddings and such, but I hear they plan on re-opening the restaurant.

Dude! I think we might be best friends.

Used to go here occasionally with a friend of mine from Elburn who is close personal friends with Babe Winkelmann. Definitely old school.

AND... if you take 10 West for a few miles and then (location omitted), there is a small lake with some of the best bass fishing I've ever had in my life. I think I tell Don Tiny about this spot every time I drink with him. He's usually sober, so I'm sure it's awful for him to listen to.

No, but I did eat at a strange little place on Route 12 in Richmond once. I don't remember the name.

That has been called Checker's for at least 15-20 years.

And I'd call that a classic pancake house.

Nope. We're not talking about the same place then. I know it was the cove no more than 10 years ago... used to go there for breakfast with DW and tmurf every Sunday back when I lived in the 60193.

Yep, we'd go there for graduations.

A couple more old school places:

Tom's Steak House on North Ave.
White Fence Farm in Romeoville

I have a taste for Merichka's now.

Ok hot shot, the Mickey D's at Plum Grove and Higgins near our high school, what famous shit hole hot dog place was that before they tore it down? It was the only place I know that served RC as their main cola.

And better yet, what Italian Place on Golf used to be in the Champps location before it closed? Had my first date there with the wife.

I think Pepe's serves RC as their cola.

A lot of Greek joints and Chicago pizza places serve RC. It's cheaper. I have a friend who was a salesman for Pepsi. He used to sneer about RC and say, "I spill more than they sell."
