You think that it's within kennys skillset to 180 on his team building philosophy in a single offseason and rebuild effectively? I don't think so. Usually, when a total rebuild is necessary, you need a new GM. Since Kenny is pretty much still GM and Hahn is his lapdog, they'd both have to go.
Makes sense. Other teams engaging in a successful rebuild needed to dismiss and rebuild their front office first.

I take full responsibility for breaking Darkside earlier this spring.

I just meant that if you take the Cubs' three highest yearly salaries off the team, the Cubs are still winning the NL Central by many games and are still competing for the best record in baseball.

10 out of 10 baseball fans agree that savvy drafting and a couple well done trades put the Cubs into the position they are in today.

The free agent signings were then used to fill a couple of small holes. They certainly did not spend their way to their current position.

Ah Brick and Farvio are just trying to push Cubs fans buttons. It's what Sox fans do. Farvio is SHOCKED about what he's seen in this thread. I mean, he's just amazed at what he's seen. Wow. Crazy.
And brick. He's just going to take a pot shot at the Cubs because he is upset at what the Sox GM has done over the last 10 years or so. Understandable. I would be upset too. Hell I was pissed about the shit Hendry did, and he was a GM who really DID try to spend his way to a title.

The Cubs began spending when the draft picks arrived. What's the argument? Did people think they weren't going to spend money? This isn't Tampa, they are following the Red Sox playbook to the letter. Smart trades, good drafting and spend when you think it makes sense.
