Nice hit if you had it.

It's pretty embarrassing though what racing is becoming. Baffert is lighting these things up like there's no tomorrow. You can't really tell me that this horse and Defrong are that good. Does Baffert really just have a barn full of Secretariats?

You actually thought Carina Mia could beat Songbird?

You think more of Songbird than I do. She has the mystique of an undefeated horse, but she usually runs pedestrian fractions with little to no pressure. When I beat her I'm gonna pay my mortgage for six months like I did when Keen Ice beat AP.

Here are my picks to click.

Arrogate 10-1, Gun Runner 10-1, Exaggerator 3-1, American Freedom 6-1 for tri-fecta

Will make place or show bets on Arrogate, Gun Runner and maybe Gift Box.

Arrogate can flat-out fly.

Bravo!

Did you nail that tri? Sweet!

I don't think what happened today is embarrassing at all. On the contrary, it's good for the sport that Arrogate broke the 147 year-old Travers record today. He's a freak of nature, like Secretariat was.

I wonder what all the other trainers are thinking when Baffert goes one, two in this race, when there were so many other good horses in the field. I don't get Exaggerator at all, not anywhere near the pace and was never in a position to challenge down the stretch.

I liked how Laoban looked around the 1/2 mi mark, when he was there with Arrogate, but I think they ran him on too short of rest, like with Gov. Malibu, Destin and Creator. Four weeks doesn't seem like long enough layoff before a major G1 race. I read Laoban ran a bullet prep his last time out, just blistering, but maybe it was too hard that he nothing left for today?

For the record, I did have Arrogate 1 along with Laoban 2 in an exacta box. I like the sport aspect of horse racing more than the gambling side. Money isn't my motivation.

I'm pretty sure Arrogate isn't Secretariat.

Laoban was a maiden going into the Dandy. He caught a slow pace on a speed favoring track and popped at a big price.

What other trainers are thinking is, "I wish I had whatever the fuck Baffert is using." Cobalt or epogen or whatever. Those horses aren't racing like that on hay, oats, and water.

10 wins by 54,75 lengths.......she's not running against a clock........she's destroying her rivals

139 Timeform and 123 Beyer. I guess Baffert just magically ended up with King Kong in his barn two years in a row.

Look, I'm not bitching because I lost a bet. And I'm not naive enough to believe you can race a horse cold at the top levels and be able to compete. But this kind of thing in a classic race is beyond the pale. It's one thing for a guy like Navarro to light up a sprinter or Mullins or Lake to jack up some claimer on a Wednesday afternoon, but this shit is just silly.

I know, Walt. It's hard to fault an undefeated horse.

By the way, I didn't realize that Martin Garcia isn't riding for Baffert anymore because they had a falling out a few weeks before the Kentucky Derby. I'm looking at the Baffert horse PPs over the last few weeks and I'm seeing nothing but Bejerano as his jockey and then I googled the article.

Those two douchebags are always fighting and making up.

You're right JORR...apparently they made up over the past week or so. The combo just won a race @ Santa Anita. Supposed to be back to ride Dortmund in the BC.
