Cmon man, hot as fuck out, muggy as hell n numb nuts wants 130 pitches out of him in a 3 all tie...wtf

Types of support Quintana suffers from a lack of:

-run
-managerial
-environmental

How many other excuses can we come up with?

Were the guys facing the shitty Sox offense pitching in air conditioning?

How many times has that happened this year? He hasn't been as good his last couple starts. I can admit that without trying to come up with bullshit excuses.

No. Frank I'm lost. You were for Quintana prior to the all star break and despite pitching great since the break you've turned on him. It's really weird.

You get tired of watching every guy your "great" pitcher faces pitch better than he does.

I've not totally turned on him. I was always in the middle anyway with the whole W-L thing. I do think a starter's W-L record has some merit. But so do the other stats, both traditional and advanced. To completely ignore one side or the other is stupid and shortsighted.

Quintana is a good pitcher, not great. Maybe he becomes dominant in the coming years. If he is on the White Sox, I would love to see that. But even on bad teams I have watched him give away too many leads to be surprised when he loses. I am not going to boo the guy, I just do not think he is nearly as great as you make him out to be, Nas.

He pitched MANY solid innings last night. A well deserved W.

It would have been nice to see the Sox offense do some of this scoring in May and June.

I agree. Hopefully the front office isn't fooled by it. We need quality bats.

Borderline great. He needs to start going deeper into games and finishing some of them off.

I think he is well past the "go deeper in games" criticism as he approaches 200 innings for the fourth straight year.

The guy is a great pitcher, no borderline to it.

He doesn't miss starts but he also doesn't finish games either. I don't think he has a CG this year. He's only lost 29% of his career starts but he also has 59 no decisions for his career. I think going deeper and finishing games would improve his numbers.

How can you be great when other guys pitch better than you do half the time? Is there that much greatness in MLB?

If your name isn't Kershaw, at best you get maybe 2 CG per year.

CG is overrated to me. There is no reason to finish off a 5-0 game if you have a solid bullpen...save those bullets. Maybe not for this year's postseason in the case of Quintana...but for years when it matters.

Nobody finishes games. But it isn't too much to ask a great pitcher to leave with the lead the great majority of the time.

Your default is ad hominem or argumentum ad populum. I honestly have never seen you make a cogent argument on any subject.

Your attempt to turn this around by shitting on my credibility is amusing. Almost no one is in agreement with you on this. It isn't me you have an issue with. It is logic that you have an issue with.
