It's rare a team attains fun bad status this quickly after fans were cautiously optimistic going into the season.

Owners set the tone for the entire organization, Blackhawks started winning after their ownership turned over. Buccaneers were perennially putrid under Culverhouse; Culverhouse dies and the franchise ownership turns over, Super Bowl.

Why were Bears fans cautiously optimistic? Everyone who's supposed to know this stuff said the Bears were garbage.

The worst thing about tonight is that McDonough, who is a good PBP guy, has absolutely no chemistry with Gruden. At least Tirico and Gruden liked each other and had a good time in the booth during blowouts.

Mainly because they overachieved with an even worse team on paper last season and they have lots of young players so people can delude themselves with talk of potential. Even after last week's debacle they were favored going into this game so I don't think they were widely predicted to be this bad.
