The #Bears are preparing for a lengthy absence for QB Jay Cutler, source said. Now it's a matter of how to fix (surgery or not) his thumb.
Amputation.

I like Jay, and the #Bears are significantly worse without him.

Guess not everyone agrees. Big Red still on the BIG bandwagon

Of course the Bears are worse without him. If he played all 16 games, they might go 2-14, without him they probably go 0-16.

Well as a future type 2 diabetic she has to keep solidarity with her kind.

It makes absolutely no difference at this point.
Shaw has a broken ankle, but I agree with your overall premise.

Cutler has a thumb strain - no surgery... for now. Per John Fox.

This is a big problem. This is a bottom 3 team in the NFL. We all know it. Tank out and finally draft a QB top 3 in May.

But Foxy is 60 years old and he ain't about that. I can see him putting Ribbons and Bows on this shit box and squeezing 6 wins out of them, knocking us out of a top 3 pick in the draft.

It's a bad sign... Jay Cutler was born in 1983.

He will only need surgery if he throws a few more interceptions and then suddenly figures out it hurts.

"According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Cutler originally suffered ligament damage in his thumb in Week 1 against the Texans."

From CBS Sports website 2 hours ago. Was this ever noted anywhere last week?

If Cutler had injured ligaments in his thumb, why the hell did he practice all week? He wasn't even listed as limited.

Big Red on the case.

Just read that Cutler is expected out 2-3 weeks with a sprained thumb. My wife's response was "Did he get it caught on his vagina?"

Regardless of how good or bad you think he is, it is time for the Bears to move on from him after the season ends? Try and trade him but if that doesn't work then just release him.

He may be an all-pro at his next destination but it just isn't working with the Bears and they need a fresh start with a younger quarterback who may suck but may not be average at best.

I say bench him now if you know you want to move on from the Cutler era after the season. A shame because we have nothing behind him waiting to be developed, even tho Pace claimed they'd keep taking shots in the draft at the position.. and still hasn't after 2 drafts. And even tho I haven't liked any QB's as 1st rounders lately -it's shocking the Bears didn't try and grab at least 1 project type guy in rounds 3-5 the last couple of drafts.

Different people with the same dumbass approach to the draft is still killing the Bears.
