I read that the Seattle Sounders do something called the "March to the Match" where the fans, well, march their way across town into the stadium. I always picture it looking like this.

I was flipping around between the various pregame shows on the radio and on 670 they were talking about opposing players' dissatisfaction with the quality of the field at Soldier Field. I don't know who the two guys are hosting with the always-giggling Kirk Van Houten but one of them asked the other if he thought the poor field quality was an advantage for the Bears. The other guy said "I do, I do."

I don't see how that is possible because:

1. Bears players have been complaining about the lousy field for years.
2. The Bears have to play on the same horseshit field as their opponents and are every bit as prone to injury as their opponents.
3. The Bears have not won at home for nearly a year.

That's one hell of an advantage!

The only way I could see it being an advantage is if only part of the field was bad, and you knew what parts were bad. That doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm starting to feel like maybe the bears might still be in this game in the fourth quarter.

I have low expectations.

Howard is kinda playing well. I mean he broke a tackle in the backfield.

This kicker needs to be knifed in the throat on-field.

So, for fun, let's say the Bears wanted to bring Gould back (Robbie, not Elliot ... though I'm game for either).

He's not getting money from them now but he still counts for dead-money space against the cap (1.1 mil this year, 600k next year ... neato). Let's say they offer him the contract he had before (for simplicity's sake) ... would his dead money be deducted from his paycheck for salary cap purposes, or would his new paper go on top of the existing dead money amount?

On a positive note, I couldn't be happier with Stafford's frustration at present.

Is it too late to ask Robbie if he feels like kicking for us?

Even if the WR turned, Stafford telegraphed that throw and I think it may have been INTed or at the very least tipped.

Did Jimmy Johnson actually just say he thinks 'Jay Cutler has seen his last snap as a Chicago Bear'?

Ye gods.

A lot of local guys have been saying Hoyer is no Cutler. Cutler is clearly more talented. He may have the better arm but Hoyer's decision making on whom to throw to might be where Cutler loses out. We have seen 7 of 8 seasons watching Cutler making bad decisions. Even last season,he would do something to make you wonder what the hell he is thinking. Hoyer is hitting guys in the hands.

This happens every time Cutler goes out. The backup, who usually has half the talent, looks great. They eventually regress to just competent, but to a Bears fan, competent looks gorgeous. The team will gain yardage on first and second down, and they even pick up a few third downs. It's not that the backup is a savior... they just know how to manage an offense and stay in rhythm.

Also, re: Hoyer hitting people in stride, I can count on one hand the number of times I can remember Cutler hitting someone in stride. Cutler's completions come via throwing high balls to big receivers and having to drill it in (which he can) before the defense reacts. Cutler simply can't "throw someone open." That's why he looks like absolute garbage against good defenses.
