Instead of trying to beat MVP, maybe Mitch should worry about beating the Gospel station first.

hate to ruin the post, but if you sort the ratings by winter of 2005, WSCR is ahead of WMVP, albeit by .1

Hate to break this to you, that was LAST Jan. 2005 period. Thanks for trying though. It does show the decline of 670 though.

While I am a just a fan (never been in a radio station)

If I read the ratings right, during 2005, the score took a overall gradual decline and WMVP rose?

During 2005, Mike North's show was launched and Mitch Rosen left WMVP and went to the Score, while both events occur, they ratings rise in one place and decline in the other.

I don't even follow ESPN that much but did they make any changes to the daily schedule during 2005? Did they win by default? Did the Score fail by letting Mike North drive the bus?

I could be wrong but MVP's numbers may be their best ever. Anyone able to confirm?

The Mike North Morning came about in the fall of 2004, Mitch Rosen left ESPN 1000 in spring of 2003, and the ratings at the Score were already down prior to Mitch Rosen's arrival to 670. Having said that, The Score has not fallen because of Mitch, but so far, I don't feel he has done enough to try and make the station better.

About a year ago, AM-1000 fired Jay Mariotti, and they had a rotating chair of hosts middays, until about baseball season began when Silvy and Carmen became official.

Most people dislike Silvy and Carmen, Mike & Mike put a great effort and overall have a good show, but it is national, and doesn't appeal to the Chicagoans, Dan Patrick's show is boring and national. If the Score had a better lineup, they'd win. I prefer AM-1000 easily over the Score, but I admit they win the ratings by default. The Score is that bad right now.

Yes,,the Score got rid of plenty of good folks,,and broke up good combinations(North & Jiggs, Mac & Boers etc),and then Harvey Wells, who played a big role in those unwise breakups, gets them to hire his Wife to be on with North. Gee,,THAT's done plenty has'nt it? Yes,,to run it more into the ground!! Wells must have photos of some people in WSCR higher Mgt. Mitch got there with most of this crap already in place---not his fault. He wants to do many things but is being prevented like he was at MVP(when he wanted to go more local). He's not perfect, but he was the first PD at MVP to BEAT the Score, then Winer comes in,wreck's it more, yet try's to take credit for ratings. He left for WGN. Big deal,,any dildo can run that ship. MVP has not gotten better,,SCR has simply gotten worse since all the 2001-02 purges by Wells and Hayes.
The combined ratings for BOTH Stations together is a disgrace!!!
