The NFL network is rebroadcasting the game at 7 p.m. tonight, replay is at 12:30 a.m. I don't remember this game being part of their rotation last year.

I've have the tape of the original broadcast. Fun to watch that game. I'll never watch Super Bowl XLI again however. In fact, when they show highlights or have an NFL films recap of that game, I change the channel. The only way I'll recount that misery will be through memory.

Watching the SB XX broadcast, i noticed that the Bear offense actually had some imagination back then.

QB draws, college option type plays, runs from the shotgun formation (including an end around from the shotgun), screens where McMahon ran to one side of the field and threw across the field to the TE, sweeps, throwing the ball downfield even to the fullback were all part of the gameplan. Even Merlin Olsen mentioned the Bears had the most gimmicks of anyone in the NFL.

Compare to the Ron Turner offense of running in between the tackles and then throwing the wide receiver screen to Hester to throw off the defense.

I know the talent is different but boy, the Bears of 85 looked more like a 21st century offense compared to the crap we have now.

I'm sure those Bears would've liked to have one of those gimmick plays back.
The Ortego-Frazier reverse on a punt led to the end of the starting corner's career.

McMahon caught 2 TD's from Payton during that season. One was a 20 pass where Mac caught it in the endzone.

When is the last time you saw a QB go out for a pass? Let alone a QB who couldn't run like McMahon. Bears were very creative that year.

I see your point, but when was the last time the bears had ANYONE who could throw the ball like Walter could?
