Bulleit is good. Woodford is very good. If you like wheated bourbon give Larceny a try. It's very good and is only $21.99. Old Fitzgerald is a nice wheated bourbon and a little less expensive than Larceny. Elijah Craig 12 year is good and relatively inexpensive. Angel's Envy is very good, too, but pricier than the others.

I just got a bottle of this over the weekend for my birthday. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

I have had Larceny. It's not bad. I would get Bulleit, Woodford, or Knob Creek before Larceny. Cool bottle, though.

Have you guys tried Trader Joe's bourbon? I've never had it but am tempted to try it.

I tried Koval, which is distilled in Chicago. I couldn't finish it and gave it to a friend of mine who said he had tried it before and liked it. He didn't finish it, either. It was so bad I thought there was something wrong with that particular bottle.

Benchmark Old No. 8 is a good mixer.

Have you found that your taste has changed since you began drinking bourbon? Two of the first I had were Maker's Mark and Knob Creek. I liked them both, and still like Maker's Mark but had some Knob Creek several months ago and did not like it at all.

I got on a Bulleit kick for a while, thought it was terrific, and then think I had too much of it and got a little tired tired of it. Every time I go back to Woodford, though, it always tastes great to me.

I've tried various ryes but just can't get into them. Angel's Envy rye is nice, though. It almost tastes like liquid carmel.

Bulleit Rye is my go to call when ordering an old fashioned.

Yes, I think my tastes have changed, but I also like variety. My first exposure to bourbon (other than drinking Beam and Coke, barf) was around 2000. Some friends of mine went to school at Murray State in Kentucky, so needless to say, they consumed a lot of bourbon. Maker's was where I started. Once they got popular, and raised their prices, I started trying new bourbons. Basically, my rotation is Bulleit, Knob, and Woodford. I always have a 1.75L of one of those on hand. Sometimes I will also buy 750ml bottles of small batch stuff, like Rowan's Creek or Black Maple Hill. As Frank noted, Buffalo Trace is pretty good, too.

My father in law likes to come over to the house uninvited for bullshit reasons knowing that I am a good host and will offer him a drink even when I want nothing more than to be left alone. He likes me to have Bulliet. He loves to come over to the house uninvited when I am not home and have several drinks. He polished off a bottle of Angel's Envy when I was on vacation.

All of you should go do the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, if you have not done so already. A friend of mine grew up in Lexington and has a big gathering one of the April Keeneland weekends each year. About 20 people usually go, and about 2/3 go to at least one distillery.

I drink Woodford both regular and their vanilla oak variant at home, but I don't like drinking alone so that is kind of rare. I drink it more when I am on an airplane. When I am out, I will drink Bulleit, Makers, or Woodford. I do prefer it with one cube of ice, so I am not a purist.
