Bernstein is a guy who is always looking to be on "the right side" of a movement. He takes no position that cannot be altered. He would be the first to welcome his alien overlords with open arms. He would be the first to curry favor from an occupying force.

That's not limited to Bernstein. People like that are all over. Anyone who ever tells me that I have to "appreciate" someone who I am competing against should have their fanhood questioned.

You can even see it on this very board. Cubs fans come in to shit all over Hockey Gay or anyone who is negative. You know why HG and many of us are like that? Because we care - probably too much. These games are nerve-wracking, and we are a fan base that has never won anything.

I watch sports for one reason and one reason alone - to see my team win. I don't watch to "appreciate greatness" or enjoy the aesthetics of the game or analyze the game (though I do find that fun)... I watch to be on pins and needles and to hope to God my team pulls out a victory. That's how I was raised, with my family members all gathered around the TV going nuts for both good and bad. For those who haven't experienced that or feel that it is beneath them, I have pity. Those are some of the greatest moments of my life.

If the Cubs lose in the LCS or WS and he makes a litany of excuses or tries to spin it as a positive in some way, I would love to hear caller after caller yell "CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE ALL THAT MATTER!" at him.

It's stupid anyway. They showed it three times and it was the right call. The pitch was inside. Sure, if I'm Arrieta I want that one, but there are many calls like that going both ways in every game. Only losers talk about them.
