I think they (the writers) should have let Rick do it. That would have really cemented Negan as an all-time TV villain in basically 1 episode.

I was pretty sure he'd stop him but not entirely sure. All the stuff in the episode led up to that and I thought it was all really effective. I was trying to think "would they really have a kid with one eye and one hand?" That's rough.

I think that's it...which is making it hard to watch.

This season of the Walking Dead and the current state of the NFL are perfect metaphors for one another.

Hated everything about it.

Even for a show whose entire premise is horrific, brutal and gore galore, last night's episode was ridiculous. It started to feel like a B-movie at one point, completely lacking in moving the plot along and more shock-horror than compelling.

Very disappointed.

I hear ya, it was very tough to watch, even for a sociopath like me.

But, that said, I think it was necessary to advance the plot. As we know, Rick and Co. have been through pretty much anything bad anyone can go through and as a result not much shakes them. In order for this season to work, Negan needed to successfully and fully break Rick in that initial meeting. What could you do to break the unbreakable? Well, we saw in the episode what the answer to that was. We needed to be shocked and horrified in order to accept that Rick would finally meet someone who had his number. I'd say, mission accomplished. In a sense, you could argue that the episode broke the audience as well as many people, including yourself, found it be way over the top and not enjoyable to watch at all. Once again, I'd say mission accomplished. I'd say everyone is now ready for the show's transition into this new world with Negan in charge.

never would've pegged Carol to be the first person in the Zombie Apocalypse to move to the suburbs.

Boring ep, but it had to be done to introduce the Kingdom I suppose.

Not satisfying at all....I wish they'd show a double episode when doing these intro/background narratives....

I liked how they acknowledged, on the face of it, that the Kingdom is ridiculous.

I finally got around to watching this last episode. I've been preoccupied (2016)

All episode long, I kept talking about how idiotic the King was... then he dropped the bullshit at the end. That made me happy, it was getting way too over the top.

They actually did an interesting hour of television that enlarged the scope of their world. Two in a row, really.

But I think this hour was very impressive. They are doing a good job with Dwight. He's a better actor than I would have thought after last year.

I enjoyed last night as well. I think they have to try to humanize Dwight a bit and they did a credible job doing that sharing some of his backstory.

Fantastic episode, one of my favorite all time. They did an amazing job giving Dwight some depth and showing us a glimpse into what it's like being a Savior.

With Daryl where he is, I wonder if this means they are gonna skip the story line from the comics where someone else is an unexpected visitor to Neganland? I hope they don't, really want to see that. I could see next week's episode ending with the folks at Rickland realizing one of their own is missing and then an episode ending shot of that person stowing away in the back of a truck with a machine gun. That would be awesome.

They need to do that. I know they love to rewrite stuff but that would be colossally stupid to skip over.

That's integral to the later story, too....so I hope we see it....

Had never watched an episode of this. Wife is out of town this weekend so I watched all of season one last night. Working on 2 tonight. Overall, like it so far, but a few practical things are strange.

They are living in a world with abandoned vehicles everywhere, but they keep driving a 30 year old RV that breaks down whenever they use it. Find a new RV that will run and get better gas mileage. Gas is a big deal after all.

The group builds their camp in the mountains, but it's right off the road. Why not drive until you find a farm/cabin/house so they can have actual protection. If I'm living in a world with zombies everywhere, a nylon tent in the woods isn't what I'm sleeping in. They lost half their group when the small herd found them. (Like the doctor they take the shot boy to in season 2).

Looks like Rick was really close to swinging Lucille on negan there near the end...
And why doesn't Coral just plug negative there when he had a gun on his henchman?

I just saw Glenn die. It seemed kind of unceremonious for the death of a main character.

They always seem to find these pockets that are virtually untouched by man or zombie, yet they never seem to search for these areas.
